2 Timothy 2
2 Timothy 2:1 Thou therefore, my son, be strong
in the grace that is in Christ Jesus.
-
The power comes from God, ask God to be strong
-
Ask The Lord to guide you
2 And the things
that thou hast heard of me among many witnesses, the same commit
thou to faithful men, who shall be able to teach others also.
-
Teach others the things that I have taught you
3 Thou therefore endure hardness, as a good soldier of Jesus
Christ.
-
There will be times when you will be mocked, IF
you are teaching God's Word
-
He's saying be strong in God's Word
4 No man that warreth entangleth himself with the
affairs of this life; that he may please him who hath chosen him
to be a soldier.
-
In the last days there will be wars between God
and Satan = religious wars
-
Being pleasing to Him who hath chosen him to be
a soldier.
-
Hath chosen = chose = Greek word stratoiogeo.
Only here. The Master's "Well done" is the
reward.
5 And if a man also strive for
masteries, yet is he not crowned, except he strive lawfully.
6 The husbandman that laboureth must be first partaker of
the fruits.
7 Consider what I say; and the Lord give thee
understanding in all things.
-
The Lord wants you to remind Him of His promises
-
Isaiah 43:26 Put me in remembrance: let us plead
together: declare thou, that thou mayest be
justified.
8 Remember that Jesus Christ
of the seed of David was raised from the dead according to my
gospel:
9 Wherein I suffer trouble, as an evil doer, even
unto bonds; but the word of God is not bound.
-
Nothing can stop you from teaching the Word of
God
-
Bonds = NT:1199 = shackle (of a prisoner)
-
God's Word is never bound
10
Therefore I endure all things for the elect's sakes, that they
may also obtain the salvation which is in Christ Jesus with
eternal glory.
-
I endure all things for the elect's sakes
-
Why?
-
To bring His Word to all that want to hear His
Word
-
Amos 3:7 Surely the Lord God will do nothing, but he revealeth his secret unto
his servants the prophets.
-
The elect are expected to seek out God's word, His
knowledge, Wisdom and Understanding.
-
2 Timothy 2:15 Study to shew thyself approved unto God,
a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the
word of truth.
-
1 Corinthians 2:9 But as it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor
ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the
things which God hath prepared for them that love him.
10 But
God hath revealed them unto us by his Spirit: for the
Spirit searcheth all things, yea, the deep things of God.
11 For what man knoweth the things of a man, save the spirit of
man which is in him? even so the things of God knoweth no man,
but the Spirit of God.
-
2 Timothy 2:10
Therefore I endure all things for the elect's sakes, that they
may also obtain the salvation which is in Christ Jesus with
eternal glory.
James 1:12 Blessed is the man that endureth temptation: for when he is tried, he
shall receive the crown of life, which the Lord hath promised to them
that love him.
In the last days the elect are going to help God directly
in His work. What a glorious time is ahead. His goodness will
let the elect (seven thousand that stood against Satan without
wavering), being the first fruits, that would suffer for Him in the
near future and bring this age into "the millennium" which is the Lord's
day. (Roman 11) (Ephesians 1)
They will prove their right of being God's elect by standing against Satan
again, being delivered up and being a witness for Christ's sake.
11 It is a faithful saying: For if we be
dead with him, we shall also live with him:
12 If we
suffer, we shall also reign with him: if we deny him, he also
will deny us:
-
If you're teaching God's Word, people are going
to talk about you
-
Just as they did as the time of Jesus, Mockers
13 If we believe not, yet he abideth
faithful: he cannot deny himself.
14 Of these things put
them in remembrance, charging them before the Lord that they
strive not about words to no profit, but to the subverting of
the hearers.
15 Study to shew thyself approved unto God,
a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the
word of truth.
-
Study to shew thyself approved unto God
-
A workman that needeth not to be ashamed
-
Verse 19 Nevertheless the foundation of God standeth
sure, having this seal, The Lord knoweth them that are His. And,
Let every one that nameth the name of Christ depart from
iniquity.
-
Amos 3:7 Surely the Lord God will do nothing, but he revealeth his secret unto
his servants the prophets.

The elect are expected to seek out God's word, His
knowledge, Wisdom and Understanding.

16 But shun profane and vain babblings:
for they will increase unto more ungodliness.
-
They will increase unto more ungodliness
-
2 Timothy 4:3 For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but
after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having
itching ears;
-
Their own lusts, their teaching not God words.
4 And they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be
turned unto fables.
17 And
their word will eat as doth a canker: of whom is Hymenaeus and
Philetus;
18 Who concerning the truth have erred, saying
that the resurrection is past already; and overthrow the faith
of some.
19 Nevertheless the foundation of God standeth
sure, having this seal, The Lord knoweth them that are his. And,
Let every one that nameth the name of Christ depart from
iniquity.
-
Let your foundation be on teaching God's Word
-
Having the Seal of God in your forehead
-
Revelation 7:3
Saying, Hurt not the earth, neither the sea, nor the trees,
till
we have sealed the servants of our God in their foreheads.
20 But in a great house there are not only
vessels of gold and of silver, but also of wood and of earth;
and some to honour, and some to dishonour.
21 If a man
therefore purge himself from these, he shall be a vessel unto
honour, sanctified, and meet for the master's use, and prepared
unto every good work.
22 Flee also youthful lusts: but
follow righteousness, faith, charity, peace, with them that call
on the Lord out of a pure heart.
23 But foolish and
unlearned questions avoid, knowing that they do gender strifes.
24 And the servant of the Lord must not strive; but be
gentle unto all men, apt to teach, patient,
-
Once you tell someone the truth, IF they don't
see or hear let them alone, it's up to God if
the seed grows.
-
If you tell someone the 6th trumpet happen
before the 7th trumpet and they start to mock
you leave them alone. Don't cast your pearls
before swine.
-
Matthews 7:6 Give not that which is Holy unto
the dogs, neither cast ye your pearls before
swine, lest they trample them under their feet,
and turn again and rend you.
7 Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye
shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto
you:
8 For every one that asketh receiveth; and he
that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh
it shall be opened.
25 In
meekness instructing those that oppose themselves; if God
peradventure will give them repentance to the acknowledging of
the truth;
26 And that they may recover themselves
out of the snare of the devil, who are taken captive by him at
his will.
