2 Thessalonians 2 tells us do not be deceived by Satan, the son of perdition. I'd like to mention here that in verses 3 and 4 we are told that Christ will not return until Satan is revealed (or has appeared).
And again in verse 9, we are told even Him (Christ) whose coming is After the working of Satan with all power and signs and lying wonders.
 
2 Thessalonians 2:1 Now we beseech you, brethren, by the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, and by our gathering together unto him,
  • Return of Christ and our gathering back to Him
  • There is nothing complicated about this
  • Revelation 11 and Revelation 19, Christ returns at the 7th trump
  • Revelation 11, Christ returns at the last trump (7th trump), after Satan kills the two witnesses, 3 1/2 days.. Christ returns.
2 That ye be not soon shaken in mind, or be troubled, neither by spirit, nor by word, nor by letter as from us, as that the day of Christ is at hand.
  • He is saying, be not shaken up or trouble, By word, letter, neither by spirit, About the day of Christ is at hand
  • Don't listen to anyone that turns you away from the truth.
3 Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition;
  • Falling away = defection from truth (properly, the state) ("apostasy"): falling away, forsake.
    •
  • Apostasy, which comes from the Greek means the ''apostasia'', is a renunciation of one's professed principles.
  • Falling away = 1/3 of the Christian will follow Satan
  • Son of perdition # 622 = damnable, destruction, die, perish
    John 17:12 While I was with them in the world, I kept them in thy name: those that thou gavest me I have kept, and none of them is lost, but the son of perdition; that the scripture might be fulfilled.
    Revelation 17:8 The beast that thou sawest was, and is not; and shall ascend out of the bottomless pit, and go into perdition: and they that dwell on the earth shall wonder, whose names were not written in the book of life from the foundation of the world, when they behold the beast that was, and is not, and yet is.
    Revelation 17:12 And the ten horns which thou sawest are ten kings, which have received no kingdom as yet; but receive power as kings one hour with the beast.
  • 4th trump, 1/3 of the Christians are spiritually dead to God's Word.
  • John 5:25 Verily, verily, I say unto you, The hour is coming, and now is, when the dead shall hear the voice of the Son of God: and they that hear shall live.
  • Dead = spiritual dead to God's word = Ezekiel 37
  • Bible study delivered up = the dead shall hear the voice of the Son of God: and they that hear shall live
  • Before Jesus returns, There will be a great apostasy. The world will abandon their previous religion to worship the son of perdition. There is only one son of perdition.
  • Don't allow anyone to tell you it was Judas. Satan's the only entity judged to die the second death by name. Satan's the son of perdition, and he's the antichrist.
  • This is why it is so important that we understand this subject matter.
  • Who's the man of sin? Satan
  • Satan's standing  in Jerusalem saying he is God = Satan's the son of perdition
  • Perdition: ''Appolya'' #684, and is from the root word # 622, which is Satan
  • The falling away applies to Christians who are deceived by Satan at the time when he stands in Jerusalem saying, I am Christ, as it is spelled out in the next verse 4.
  • Who's the man of sin? Satan
  • Revelation 17:8 The beast that thou sawest was, and is not; and shall ascend out of the bottomless pit, and go into perdition: and they that dwell on the earth shall wonder, whose names were not written in the book of life from the foundation of the world, when they behold the beast that was, and is not, and yet is.
  • The word beast is figuratively used to symbolize various kings, leaders or nations. It also describes the character of violent and brutal men. (Revelation 17) (Revelation 13) (Daniel 7 and 11)

  • Daniel 7:17 These great beasts, which are four, are four kings, which shall arise out of the earth.
  • 5th trump = The 1st beast, the one world government,  will setup Satan's seat the 5th vial.
  • 6th trump = Satan appears, the 7th kingdom gives the kingdom over to Satan
  • Satan the son of perdition, shall go into the bottomless pit = Rev 20
  • Revelation 9:11 And they had a king over them, which is the angel of the bottomless pit, whose name in the Hebrew tongue is Abaddon, but in the Greek tongue hath his name Apollyon.
  • Revelation 20:1 And I saw an angel come down from heaven, having the key of the bottomless pit and a great chain in his hand.
  • 2 And he laid hold on the dragon, that old serpent, which is the Devil, and Satan, and bound him a thousand years,
  • 3 And cast him into the bottomless pit, and shut him up, and set a seal upon him, that he should deceive the nations no more, till the thousand years should be fulfilled: and after that he must be loosed a little season.
  • Angel = Michael = Revelation 12:7 And there was war in heaven: Michael and his angels fought against the dragon; and the dragon fought and his angels,
    8 And prevailed not; neither was their place found any more in heaven.
    9 And the great dragon was cast out, that old serpent, called the Devil, and Satan, which deceiveth the whole world: he was cast out into the earth, and his angels were cast out with him.
  • 1st trump, Let no man deceive you by any means
  • Bible study Satan Goes By Many Names

4 Who opposeth and exalteth himself above all that is called God, or that is worshipped; so that he as God sitteth in the temple of God, shewing himself that he is God.
  • Satan will set his throne up in Jerusalem claiming to be Christ. Satan's the antichrist. Most of world will worship him. The world will be deceived by him (Rev. 13:18).

  • Study Revelation 11 and Revelation 20
  • Where's the temple of God?
  • Jerusalem in that old city, We're talking here about a geographical location of course, because the new temple is Christ's own body.
  • John 2:21 But he spake of the temple of his body.
  • Matthew 24:32 Now learn a parable of the fig tree; When his branch is yet tender, and putteth forth leaves, ye know that summer is nigh:
  • Matthew 24, All will come to pass in this generation, (last generation was setup May 14 1948).
  • Matthew 24:15 When ye therefore shall see the abomination of desolation, spoken of by Daniel the prophet, stand in the holy place, (whoso readeth, let him understand:)
  • Satan's standing in the very geographical location in Judea, saying I am Christ: I am come to save the world.
  • This is the deception.
  • People who are unaware of this false christ (Satan) and unaware of the Kenites who claim to be Jews and are not, will worship the wrong christ.

  • Who's this, that will exalteth himself above all?
  • It's Lucifer, Satan himself
  • Mark 13:14 But when ye shall see the abomination of desolation, spoken of by Daniel the prophet, standing where it ought not, (let him that readeth understand,) then let them that be in Judaea flee to the mountains:
  • Daniel 9:27 And he shall confirm the covenant with many for one week: and in the midst of the week he shall cause the sacrifice and the oblation to cease, and for the overspreading of abominations he shall make it desolate, even until the consummation, and that determined shall be poured upon the desolate.
  • Jesus himself spoke, when you see this abomination "standing where he ought not".
  • Now the original writings this word "it" was "he".
  • Moffat translates it "he". Even Christ says Satan will come first, yet people will be deceived.
  • This teaching sets them up for the deception of the last days.
  • Isaiah 14:12 How art thou fallen from heaven, O Lucifer, son of the morning! how art thou cut down to the ground, which didst weaken the nations!
    13 For thou hast said in thine heart, I will ascend into heaven, I will exalt my throne above the stars of God: I will sit also upon the mount of the congregation, in the sides of the north:
    14 I will ascend above the heights of the clouds; I will be like the most High.
    15 Yet thou shalt be brought down to hell, to the sides of the pit.
    16 They that see thee shall narrowly look upon thee, and consider thee, saying, Is this the man that made the earth to tremble, that did shake kingdoms
  • Ezekiel 28:2 Son of man, say unto the prince of Tyrus, Thus saith the Lord GOD; Because thine heart is lifted up, and thou hast said, I am a God, I sit in the seat of God, in the midst of the seas; yet thou art a man, and not God, though thou set thine heart as the heart of God:
  • Ezekiel 28:8 They shall bring thee down to the pit, and thou shalt die the deaths of them that are slain in the midst of the seas.
  • 9 Wilt thou yet say before him that slayeth thee, I am God? but thou shalt be a man, and no God, in the hand of him that slayeth thee.
  • Tyrus: means  rock, another name of Satan's, Tyrus = rock = their rock is Satan
  • Deuteronomy 32:31 For their rock is not as our Rock, even our enemies themselves being judges.
  • Ezekiel 28:18 Thou hast defiled thy sanctuaries by the multitude of thine iniquities, by the iniquity of thy traffick; therefore will I bring forth a fire from the midst of thee, it shall devour thee, and I will bring thee to ashes upon the earth in the sight of all them that behold thee.
    19 All they that know thee among the people shall be astonished at thee: thou shalt be a terror, and never shalt thou be any more.

  • Revelation 20:14  And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death.
  • Our Rock is God
  • What did the Lord said, about them that teach My children to fly (rapture away)?
  • Ezekiel 13:20 Wherefore thus saith the Lord GOD; Behold, I am against your pillows, wherewith ye there hunt the souls to make them fly, and I will tear them from your arms, and will let the souls go, even the souls that ye hunt to make them fly.
    21 Your kerchiefs also will I tear, and deliver my people out of your hand, and they shall be no more in your hand to be hunted; and ye shall know that I am the LORD.
    22 Because with lies ye have made the heart of the righteous sad, whom I have not made sad; and strengthened the hands of the wicked, that he should not return from his wicked way, by promising him life:
    23 Therefore ye shall see no more vanity, nor divine divinations: for I will deliver my people out of your hand: and ye shall know that I am the LORD.
  • We know from Revelation 13, it's the Christians that helps Satan bring in one world order = the fallen away

5 Remember ye not, that, when I was yet with you, I told you these things?
  • I told you these things... Have you read it?
  • Matthew 24:25  Behold, I have told you before.
  • Revelation 9:4 And it was commanded them that they should not hurt the grass of the earth, neither any green thing, neither any tree; but only those men which have not the seal of God in their foreheads.
  • Them = Satan's angels = Rev 12 and Joel 1 = 4th stage of the locust army
  • Revelation 12:7 And there was war in heaven: Michael and his angels fought against the dragon; and the dragon fought and his angels,
    8 And prevailed not; neither was their place found any more in heaven.
    9 And the great dragon was cast out, that old serpent, called the Devil, and Satan, which deceiveth the whole world: he was cast out into the earth, and his angels were cast out with him.
  • The book of Joel tells us more about God's Army, the Kenites, Satan's church, your rulers and Satan's angels "these men are likened to locusts". Locusts comes from underground, which tells us these men work behind closed doors.
6 And now ye know what with holdeth that he might be revealed in his time.
  • He in this verse refers to that man of sin, the son of perdition
  • Michael will continue to hold him, until he boots Satan out onto the earth
  • Revelation 12:7 And there was war in heaven: Michael and his angels fought against the dragon; and the dragon fought and his angels,
    8 And prevailed not; neither was their place found any more in heaven.
    9 And the great dragon was cast out, that old serpent, called the Devil, and Satan, which deceiveth the whole world    : he was cast out into the earth, and his angels were cast out with him.
7 For the mystery of iniquity doth already work: only he who now letteth will let, until he be taken out of the way.
  • The word "letteth" is a transitive verb. It refers one back to the previous verse.
  • Michael's holding Satan in heaven, but he will cast Satan out onto earth.
  • Revelation 20 The mystery of iniquity doth already work.
  • The deception is being set up even at this time, and God will permit it until the time, Satan shall be taken out of the way, which is at the beginning of the millennium, when he shall be chained in the pit.
  • 1 John 2:18 Little children, it is the last time: and as ye have heard that antichrist shall come, even now are there many antichrists; whereby we know that it is the last time.
  • Lookup ''Anti'' means: Simply to be against. To be against Christ is simply to teach against Him.
  • What is being referred to above is the false christ, Satan, shall come to join the many anti-christs that are here already and do teach against Christ.
8 And then shall that Wicked be revealed, whom the Lord shall consume with the spirit of his mouth, and shall destroy with the brightness of his coming:
  • His truth, His word. Our Father is the King of truth.
  • Whereas Satan is the king of deception.
  • Mark 13:14 And this gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in all the world for a witness unto all nations; and then shall the end come.
  • Jesus said, the very elect will be delivered up to the synagogues, and He also said you're not to worry, because He will speak through you.
  • The point I'm making is that, He is going to use the very elect as a testimony.
  • His sword, His truth, the word of God, will teach the truth to the whole world. I hope you see the simplicity and clarity of Christ's teaching that are revealed to us as this age we live in nears its end.
  • What a witness! What a testimony this shall be.
  • Revelation 19:15 And out of his mouth goeth a sharp sword, that with it he should smite the nations: and he shall rule them with a rod of iron: and he treadeth the winepress of the fierceness and wrath of Almighty God.
  • Hebrews 4:12 For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.
  • He will destroy with the brightness of His coming, or with the brightness and light of the truth.
  • The false shepherd is Satan
  • Our Father is very complete in His instructions.
  • It is we that must take a little time to understand what it is that Jesus witnessed to Pontius Pilate

9 Even him, whose coming is after the working of Satan with all power and signs and lying wonders,

  • Destroyed by whom? Even Him, Christ whose coming is after Satan
  • I'd like to mention here that in verse 3, we are told the Christ will not come until Satan is revealed (or has appeared) and here in verse 9 again.
  • Now what about these lying wonders?
  • The one who comes with deception, as described in the following verse.

  • Refer to Revelation13:13 which speaks of the beast, representing Satan.
  • Revelation 13:13 And he doeth great wonders, so that he maketh fire come down from heaven on the earth in the sight of men,
  • He = Satan saying he God
  • This happen on earth, Satan can snap his fingers and make lightning appear, and all men will actually see this.
  • Satan has great wonders, maketh fire come down from heaven.
  • This word fire is lightning, Satan can cause lightning to come down out of heaven
    •

10 And with all deceivableness of unrighteousness in them that perish; because they received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved.

  • Romans1:18 For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who hold the truth in unrighteousness.
  • They wouldn't listen to the truth; would they?
  • They listen to the World Press.
  • They listen to what is being commonly taught in many churches.
  • They wouldn't listen to the teachings of God's prophets that are recorded in His Word.

11 And for this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie:

  • So again, the question: who holds the truth in unrighteousness?
  • It is Satan and his children, the Kenites, who have slipped in among the true Judeans. 
  • These verses in 2 Thessalonians 2 speaks specifically of Satan and those who choose to follow him and pinpoint the men in Romans 1:18 who invoke God's wrath.
  • The lies begins, when Satan is standing in the Holy Place, saying he is Christ.
  • All the world, except the very elect will believe Satan is Christ and be deceived.
  • No mark will sent this delusion upon them...It was God Himself.
  • Roman 11:4 Where Paul has just said that God has not forsaken true Israel, those listening and understanding.
  • Roman 11:4 But what saith the answer of God unto him? I have reserved to myself seven thousand men, who have not bowed the knee to the image of Baal.
  • Verse 4 This is the 7000 who know, who the false Christ is, it's Satan.
  • Verse 5 and 6 Explain that this remnant was specifically chosen, and you understand they actually earned the right  before the foundation of the world, in the spiritual war in the heavens, by standing with God against Satan.
  • This doesn't make them any better than anyone else.
  • It is simply that it is God's purpose that they shall lead their people to the truth during the millennium. 
  • Revelation 20:4 And I saw thrones, and they sat upon them, and judgment was given unto them: and I saw the souls of them that were beheaded for the witness of Jesus, and for the word of God, and which had not worshipped the beast, neither his image, neither had received his mark upon their foreheads, or in their hands; and they lived and reigned with Christ a thousand years.
  • Verse 7 Stipulates only the 7000 know the truth; emphasizing that the rest were delusion.
  • verse 8 God put them in this slumber or stupor.
  • There is no such word as '' slumber'' in Greek language, a stupor, or ''eyes that they should not see, and ears that they should not hear''.
  • The purpose of this stupor is that the Gentiles would have an opportunity to accept Christ and could come into their own kingdom, as is recorded in the 21st chapter of Revelation.
  • The word ''Gentile indicates the Greek word ''ethnos'', meaning race.
  • Keep in mind that God sent this delusion.

12 That they all might be damned who believed not the truth, but had pleasure in unrighteousness.

  • Matthew 7:21-22 Lord, Lord, I have prayed in your name, and Jesus answered, depart from me, I know you not.

13 But we are bound to give thanks always to God for you, brethren beloved of the Lord, because God hath from the beginning chosen you to salvation through sanctification of the Spirit and belief of the truth:
  • Roman 8:29-39 God chose the elect.
  • It's certainly put plainly. God directs your lives.
  • Verse 29 The chosen are to share the likeness of His Son.
  • Verse 30 ''Justified'' means judged. God judged the elect and found them innocent.
  • Verses 31-34 If God does all these things for the elect, we who have eyes to see and ears to hear.
  • Verses 35-39 Christ is our intercessor; are we going to let trials and tribulations here on earth stand in our way of salvation?
  • Keep in mind we are being tempered and prepared for these last day when we must stand against Satan.
  • God's very elect come from all tribes of Israel and all races

14 Whereunto he called you by our gospel, to the obtaining of the glory of our Lord Jesus Christ.

15 Therefore, brethren, stand fast, and hold the traditions which ye have been taught, whether by word, or our epistle.
  • 2 Timothy 2:15 Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.
  • Paul says, He called you into the truth, so stand firm to these teaching.
    • You got to stand for something.

16 Now our Lord Jesus Christ himself, and God, even our Father, which hath loved us, and hath given us everlasting consolation and good hope through grace,

  • He called you to the truth, so stand firm to these teaching.

17 Comfort your hearts, and stablish you in every good word and work.

  • Stablish you in every good word and work
