The vision of Obadiah. Thus saith the Lord God concerning Edom. The destruction of Edom to those that do evil Edom the Nation Russia. The word talking about the nation not all people.
 
The 7,000 remnants from all races, Those that love the Lord in Russia have nothing to worry about, God loves those that try to do what's right and keep His commandments. 
 
In the last days the very elect are going to help God directly in His work. What a glorious time is ahead. His goodness will let the very elect (seven thousand that stood against Satan without wavering), being the first fruits, that would suffer for Him in the near future and bring this age into "the millennium" which is the Lord's day. (Roman 11) (Ephesians 1)
 
1 Corinthians 2:9 But as it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him.

10 But God hath revealed them unto us by his Spirit: for the Spirit searcheth all things, yea, the deep things of God.

11 For what man knoweth the things of a man, save the spirit of man which is in him? even so the things of God knoweth no man, but the Spirit of God.
 
Mark 13:24 But in those days, after that (Satan's) tribulation, the sun shall be darkened, and the moon shall not give her light,

Obadiah 1:1 The vision of Obadiah. Thus saith the Lord God concerning Edom; We have heard a rumour from the Lord, and an ambassador is sent among the heathen, Arise ye, and let us rise up against her in battle.
  • Obadiah means God's servants

  • Obadiah tells us about what happens when Communism and Socialism takes over, Voters vote in rulers that bring in Communism and Socialism.
  • Ezekiel 38-39 Concerning Russia = End times = Communism and Socialism
  • Thus saith =  The words of this prophecy, therefore, are not Obadiah's, but God's.
  • Obadiah tells us what will happen in the end times = concerning Edom =  Edom is to be attacked
  • A rumour = tiding
  • Heathen = nations.
  • In battle = the war.
2 Behold, I have made thee small among the heathen: thou art greatly despised.
  • God have made thee small = The Nation are greatly despised against you
  • This is happening now
  • Genesis 27: Esau sold his birth right
  • Esau is not of the kenites, Satan's seed were of Cain, the first murderer.
3 The pride of thine heart hath deceived thee, thou that dwellest in the clefts of the rock, whose habitation is high; that saith in his heart, Who shall bring me down to the ground?
  • For their pride = hath deceived thee
  • The clefts = referring to the natural position of the Edomites
  • 2 Kings 14:7 He slew of Edom in the valley of salt ten thousand, and took Selah by war, and called the name of it Joktheel unto this day.
4 Though thou exalt thyself as the eagle, and though thou set thy nest among the stars, thence will I bring thee down, saith the Lord.
  • Though =  The words of  God
  • Stars = sons of God (Job 38:7)
  • Set thy nest = Numbers 24:21 And he looked on the Kenites, and took up his parable, and said, Strong is thy dwelling place, and thou puttest thy nest in a rock.
  • Habakkuk 2:9 Woe to him that coveteth an evil covetousness to his house, that he may set his nest on high, that he may be delivered from the power of evil!
  • Among = Isaiah 14:12 How art thou fallen from heaven, O Lucifer, son of the morning! how art thou cut down to the ground, which didst weaken the nations!
    13 For thou hast said in thine heart, I will ascend into heaven, I will exalt my throne above the stars of God: I will sit also upon the mount of the congregation, in the sides of the north:
    14 I will ascend above the heights of the clouds; I will be like the most High.
    15 Yet thou shalt be brought down to hell, to the sides of the pit.

5 If thieves came to thee, if robbers by night, (how art thou cut off!) would they not have stolen till they had enough? if the grape gatherers came to thee, would they not leave some grapes?
  • If the grape gatherers =  read "or if", etc.
  • If robbers = Jeremiah 49:9 If grape gatherers come to thee, would they not leave some gleaning grapes? if thieves by night, they will destroy till they have enough.
  • With Communism and Socialism, they will take all you have
  • Would they not = Deuteronomy 24:21 When thou gatherest the grapes of thy vineyard, thou shalt not glean it afterward: it shall be for the stranger, for the fatherless, and for the widow.
  • Isaiah 17:6 Yet gleaning grapes shall be left in it, as the shaking of an olive tree, two or three berries in the top of the uppermost bough, four or five in the outmost fruitful branches thereof, saith the LORD God of Israel.
  • Isaiah 24:13 When thus it shall be in the midst of the land among the people, there shall be as the shaking of an olive tree, and as the gleaning grapes when the vintage is done.

6 How are the things of Esau searched out! how are his hidden things sought up!
  • Searched out = discovered by the enemies = it's to read = stripped bare
7 All the men of thy confederacy have brought thee even to the border: the men that were at peace with thee have deceived thee, and prevailed against thee; they that eat thy bread have laid a wound under thee: there is none understanding in him.
  • Confederacy, Psalm 83:5 For they have consulted together with one consent: they are confederate against thee:
  • 6 The tabernacles of Edom, and the Ishmaelites; of Moab, and the Hagarenes;

  • The men who were,  won't to salute thee.
  • And = read this "and" in the text.
  • Understanding in him = or, no discernment of it: in spite of their renown for wisdom
  • Wound = snare
  • The men of  the Chaldeans, whose agents they became in persecuting the Jews.

    13 These have one mind, and shall give their power and strength unto the beast.

    15 And he saith unto me, The waters which thou sawest, where the whore sitteth, are peoples, and multitudes, and nations, and tongues.
    16 And the ten horns which thou sawest upon the beast, these shall hate the whore, and shall make her desolate and naked, and shall eat her flesh, and burn her with fire.
    17 For God hath put in their hearts to fulfill his will, and to agree, and give their kingdom unto the beast, until the words of God shall be fulfilled.

  • It you have Communism and Socialism their is no wisdom without God
  • If you drive God from a nation, God will not bless that nation
  • There has never been a nation under Communism and Socialism that has been blessed
8 Shall I not in that day, saith the Lord, even destroy the wise men out of Edom, and understanding out of the mount of Esau?
  • That day =  the day of the fulfillment of the prophecy.
  • He talking about the nation = Russia = not the people that Love the Lord in Russia
  • There are many people in Russia that love the Lord
  • Isaiah 63:1 Who is this that cometh from Edom, with dyed garments from Bozrah? this that is glorious in his apparel, travelling in the greatness of his strength? I that speak in righteousness, mighty to save.
    2 Wherefore art thou red in thine apparel, and thy garments like him that treadeth in the winefat?
    3 I have trodden the winepress alone; and of the people there was none with me: for I will tread them in mine anger, and trample them in my fury; and their blood shall be sprinkled upon my garments, and I will stain all my raiment.
    4 For the day of vengeance is in mine heart, and the year of my redeemed is come.
    5 And I looked, and there was none to help; and I wondered that there was none to uphold: therefore mine own arm brought salvation unto me; and my fury, it upheld me.
    6 And I will tread down the people in mine anger, and make them drunk in my fury, and I will bring down their strength to the earth.
  • Mount = hill country
9 And thy mighty men, O Teman, shall be dismayed, to the end that every one of the mount of Esau may be cut off by slaughter.
  • There is no wisdom, the rulers will mislead them. Because there is no wisdom

10 For thy violence against thy brother Jacob shame shall cover thee, and thou shalt be cut off for ever.
  • For thy violence against thy brother Jacob and for their wrong unto Jacob
  • Jacob = All tribes of Israel = The Christian Nation of today
  • Roman 9:13  As it is written, Jacob have I loved, but Esau have I hated.
  • God hated Esau ways, Love less, Esau didn't want to follow God's ways,  Esau, Russia ways
  • Thy violence = Esau has sold out his brothers
  • Esau was of the seed line of Isaac, but he sold his birthright to his brother Jacob
  • Genesis 27:41 And Esau hated Jacob because of the blessing wherewith his father blessed him: and Esau said in his heart, The days of mourning for my father are at hand; then will I slay my brother Jacob.
    42 And these words of Esau her elder son were told to Rebekah: and she sent and called Jacob her younger son, and said unto him, Behold, thy brother Esau, as touching thee, doth comfort himself, purposing to kill thee.
    43 Now therefore, my son, obey my voice; and arise, flee thou to Laban my brother to Haran;
    44 And tarry with him a few days, until thy brother's fury turn away;
  • James 1:1 James, a servant of God and of the Lord Jesus Christ, to the twelve tribes which are scattered abroad, greeting.
  • Who is this written to?
  • The tribes13 of Israel, Joseph got a double blessing making 13 tribes
  • God warned Israel that if they persisted in continually breaking His Laws, not only would curses come upon them. He would punish them for seven times, (a time being 360 years, seven times would be 2520 years) and would banish them from the land of Palestine and scatter them among the heathens (like lost sheep) (Leviticus. 26: 28-46).

11 In the day that thou stoodest on the other side, in the day that the strangers carried away captive his forces, and foreigners entered into his gates, and cast lots upon Jerusalem, even thou wast as one of them.

    15 And he carried away Jehoiachin to Babylon, and the king's mother, and the king's wives, and his officers, and the mighty of the land, those carried he into captivity from Jerusalem to Babylon.
    16 And all the men of might, even seven thousand, and craftsmen and smiths a thousand, all that were strong and apt for war, even them the king of Babylon brought captive to Babylon.
  • 2 Kings 25:11 Now the rest of the people that were left in the city, and the fugitives that fell away to the king of Babylon, with the remnant of the multitude, did Nebuzar-adan the captain of the guard carry away.

  • Cast = Nahum 3:10 Yet was she carried away, she went into captivity: her young children also were dashed in pieces at the top of all the streets: and they cast lots for her honourable men, and all her great men were bound in chains.

  • Even thou wast as one of them = to unify, (figuratively) collect (one's thoughts): go one way or other.
12 But thou shouldest not have looked on the day of thy brother in the day that he became a stranger; neither shouldest thou have rejoiced over the children of Judah in the day of their destruction; neither shouldest thou have spoken proudly in the day of distress.
  • Ezekiel 35:13 Thus with your mouth ye have boasted against me, and have multiplied your words against me: I have heard them.
    14 Thus saith the Lord God; When the whole earth rejoiceth, I will make thee desolate.
  • Thou shouldest not have looked on = they are addressed to Edom as from a spectator looking on and saying; ''Look not thou, "etc.
  • Children = sons.
  • Spoken proudly =  enlarged thy mouth "with laughter"
13 Thou shouldest not have entered into the gate of my people in the day of their calamity; yea, thou shouldest not have looked on their affliction in the day of their calamity, nor have laid hands on their substance in the day of their calamity;

14 Neither shouldest thou have stood in the crossway, to cut off those of his that did escape; neither shouldest thou have delivered up those of his that did remain in the day of distress.

15 For the day of the Lord is near upon all the heathen: as thou hast done, it shall be done unto thee: thy reward shall return upon thine own head.
  • The prophecy is now enlarged, and includes all the nations who were Israel's enemies.
  • As = according as.
  • This prophecy was fulfilled, so far as Edom was concerned, later on; likewise will the judgment on "all the nations" be literally fulfilled.
16 For as ye have drunk upon my holy mountain, so shall all the heathen drink continually, yea, they shall drink, and they shall swallow down, and they shall be as though they had not been.
  • All the heathen drink of the cup of wrath = 7th vial
  • Those that love the Lord have nothing to worry about. He talking about those that do evil.
17 But upon mount Zion shall be deliverance, and there shall be holiness; and the house of Jacob shall possess their possessions.
  • 7th trump, Israel Restoration
  • Jacob = All tribes of Israel = The Christian Nation of today
  • Judah = The tribe of Judah, the Jews
  • Israel = The 12 tribes = The Christian Nations of today
  • Genesis 32:28 And he said, Thy name shall be called no more Jacob, but Israel: for as a prince hast thou power with God and with men, and hast prevailed.
  • The house of Jacob shall possess = The salvation and victory of Jacob
  • Upon mount Zion = Joel 2:32 And it shall come to pass, that whosoever shall call on the name of the Lord shall be delivered: for in mount Zion and in Jerusalem shall be deliverance, as the Lord hath said, and in the remnant whom the Lord shall call.
  • Isaiah 46:13 I bring near my righteousness; it shall not be far off, and my salvation shall not tarry: and I will place salvation in Zion for Israel my glory.
  • Shall be = Jeremiah 46:28 Fear thou not, O Jacob my servant, saith the LORD: for I am with thee; for I will make a full end of all the nations whither I have driven thee: but I will not make a full end of thee, but correct thee in measure; yet will I not leave thee wholly unpunished.
  • Joel 3:16 The LORD also shall roar out of Zion, and utter his voice from Jerusalem; and the heavens and the earth shall shake: but the LORD will be the hope of his people, and the strength of the children of Israel.
  • Amos 9:8 Behold, the eyes of the Lord GOD are upon the sinful kingdom, and I will destroy it from off the face of the earth; saving that I will not utterly destroy the house of Jacob, saith the LORD.
  • Deliverance = a delivered remnant
18 And the house of Jacob shall be a fire, and the house of Joseph a flame, and the house of Esau for stubble, and they shall kindle in them, and devour them; and there shall not be any remaining of the house of Esau; for the Lord hath spoken it.
  • God does not destroy anyone that loves Him
  • 7th trump, Christ will be the only King of Kings and Lord of Lords forever

    10 But I have made Esau bare, I have uncovered his secret places, and he shall not be able to hide himself: his seed is spoiled, and his brethren, and his neighbours, and he is not.
    11 Leave thy fatherless children, I will preserve them alive; and let thy widows trust in me.
    12 For thus saith the Lord; Behold, they whose judgment was not to drink of the cup have assuredly drunken; and art thou he that shall altogether go unpunished? thou shalt not go unpunished, but thou shalt surely drink of it.
    13 For I have sworn by myself, saith the Lord, that Bozrah shall become a desolation, a reproach, a waste, and a curse; and all the cities thereof shall be perpetual wastes.
    14 I have heard a rumour from the Lord, and an ambassador is sent unto the heathen, saying, Gather ye together, and come against her, and rise up to the battle.
    15 For, lo, I will make thee small among the heathen, and despised among men.
    16 Thy terribleness hath deceived thee, and the pride of thine heart, O thou that dwellest in the clefts of the rock, that holdest the height of the hill: though thou shouldest make thy nest as high as the eagle, I will bring thee down from thence, saith the Lord.
    17 Also Edom shall be a desolation: every one that goeth by it shall be astonished, and shall hiss at all the plagues thereof.
    18 As in the overthrow of Sodom and Gomorrah and the neighbour cities thereof, saith the Lord, no man shall abide there, neither shall a son of man dwell in it.
    19 Behold, he shall come up like a lion from the swelling of Jordan against the habitation of the strong: but I will suddenly make him run away from her: and who is a chosen man, that I may appoint over her? for who is like me? and who will appoint me the time? and who is that shepherd that will stand before me?
    20 Therefore hear the counsel of the Lord, that he hath taken against Edom; and his purposes, that he hath purposed against the inhabitants of Teman: Surely the least of the flock shall draw them out: surely he shall make their habitations desolate with them.
    21 The earth is moved at the noise of their fall, at the cry the noise thereof was heard in the Red sea.
    22 Behold, he shall come up and fly as the eagle, and spread his wings over Bozrah: and at that day shall the heart of the mighty men of Edom be as the heart of a woman in her pangs.
19 And they of the south shall possess the mount of Esau; and they of the plain the Philistines: and they shall possess the fields of Ephraim, and the fields of Samaria: and Benjamin shall possess Gilead.
  • Amos 9:12 That they may possess the remnant of Edom, and of all the heathen, which are called by my name, saith the Lord that doeth this.
    13 Behold, the days come, saith the Lord, that the plowman shall overtake the reaper, and the treader of grapes him that soweth seed; and the mountains shall drop sweet wine, and all the hills shall melt.
  • The plain = Zeph 2:7 And the coast shall be for the remnant of the house of Judah; they shall feed thereupon: in the houses of Ashkelon shall they lie down in the evening: for the Lord their God shall visit them, and turn away their captivity.
20 And the captivity of this host of the children of Israel shall possess that of the Canaanites, even unto Zarephath; and the captivity of Jerusalem, which is in Sepharad, shall possess the cities of the south.
  • This host = The whole of the 12 tribes
  • Shall possess = they who are scattered among the Canaanites
  • Even supply = shall possess as far as
  • Zarephath = Sarepta, belonging to Sidon and Tyre.
  • Sepharad is mentioned with Ionia and Greece (in the west) in the inscriptions of Behistun.
  • Jews were sold as slaves, and were taken to Spain by the Phoenicians to work in the mines near the great city of Ampuria, now being unearthed, near Figueras, in the province of Gerona.
  • The "Jews" houses" are still shown at Besalu.
  • The cities =  Jewish tradition declares for Spain.
  • South =  My People shall enlarge their borders on all sides, and saviours
  • Captivity = the captives: "captivity" for the captives.
21 And saviours shall come up on mount Zion to judge the mount of Esau; and the kingdom shall be the Lord's.
  • Revelation 11:15 And the seventh angel sounded; and there were great voices in heaven, saying, The kingdoms of this world are become the kingdoms of our Lord, and of his Christ; and he shall reign for ever and ever.
  • Saviours = the very elect will be priests in the millennium (Revelation 20 and Revelation 15)
  • Ezekiel 44:15 But the priests the Levites, the sons of Zadok, that kept the charge of my sanctuary when the children of Israel went astray from me, they shall come near to me to minister unto me, and they shall stand before me to offer unto me the fat and the blood, saith the Lord GOD:

  • Zadok: In Hebrew means sons of the just

  • These who had gotten ''victory'' are the overcomers. These have studied to show themselves approved.
  • They are those that knew what was going on.
  • And had actually overcome the beast (Satan)

(Leviticus. 26: 28-46) God warned Israel that if they persisted in continually breaking His Laws, not only would curses come upon them.

He would punish them for seven times, (a time being 360 years, seven times would be 2520 years) and would banish them from the land of Palestine and scatter them among the heathens (like lost sheep)
