The Church of Ephesus

 

The Church of Ephesus, God was not pleased with the Church of Ephesus, Why ?

 

Revelation 2:4 Nevertheless I have somewhat against thee, because thou hast left thy first love. Remember therefore from whence thou art fallen, and repent, and do the first works; or else I will come unto thee quickly, and will remove thy candlestick out of his place, except thou repent.

 

Revelation 2:1 Unto the angel of the church of Ephesus write; These things saith he that holdeth the seven stars in his right hand, who walketh in the midst of the seven golden candlesticks;

• Who is holding the seven stars?
• The Lord
• Seven Angels are messages
• Seven candlestick are the churches
• Read verses 4- 5

2 I know thy works, and thy labour, and thy patience, and how thou canst not bear them which are evil: and thou hast tried them which say they are apostles, and are not, and hast found them liars:

• Who is God talking about?
• This is a church, or group of people, who know who the evil ones are.
• They know the identity of the liars, the sons of Satan, the Kenites who have come from Cain all the way from the beginning.
• God was not pleased with this church.

3 And hast borne, and hast patience, and for my name's sake hast laboured, and hast not fainted.

• These people are obviously very strong

4 Nevertheless I have somewhat against thee, because thou hast left thy first love.

• This could referring to many of the churches that know the national level of the things and what the beast system involves.
• They have left Christ out of it, They try to fight the battle without Him.
• This cannot be done with out God
• Who is the first love?
• It is Jesus Christ.
• They must turn back to Christ as the King. They will reign with Him, IF first they return to the love of Jesus Christ

5 Remember therefore from whence thou art fallen, and repent, and do the first works; or else I will come unto thee quickly, and will remove thy candlestick out of his place, except thou repent.

• He's saying that without repentance, He will cease sending the truth to people.
• Whereby they will not know the ends, Or the things that are going to happen.
• So that they will not know how to react, Or how to be a servant of His.

6 But this thou hast, that thou hatest the deeds of the Nicolaitans, which I also hate.

• History has no record of these written. They will appear in that day. All we know is that they are hateful to God.
• He is talking to a group of people that do in fact know their own identity.
• Deeds = Works

7 He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches; To him that overcometh will I give to eat of the tree of life, which is in the midst of the paradise of God.

• What is the  tree of life"?
• It is Jesus Christ Himself
• He is saying, those of you who have an ear to hear, will be able to partake directly of His Inheritance.
• He is in the midst of the paradise of God

God has told us many times, do not believe what any man may teach you unless you first check them out directly from God's Word which is unchangeable.
