Daniel 10                                                                                           Daniel 10    Daniel 10     Daniel 10

Note that the events here occur two years later than those in chapter 9. This is Daniel's latest date; which continues to the end of this book, seventy-three years since his deportation: he being now eighty-nine years old.

Daniel 10:1 In the third year of Cyrus king of Persia a thing was revealed unto Daniel, whose name was called Belteshazzar; and the thing was true, but the time appointed was long: and he understood the thing, and had understanding of the vision.
  • We are told these vision's meaning concerning a distant time.
  • Daniel understood the first part of the vision, but not the future part.
  • Remember what the angel said to Daniel (Daniel 12:9) He said the book is sealed up: you're not going to understand, but the wise in the last days shall understand it, so it meant for us to listen closely.
  • Persia is Iran of today. The Iranian peoples.
  • Cyrus king of Persia, Cyrus was a heathen
2 In those days I Daniel was mourning three full weeks.
  • Three full weeks = three sevens of days.
3 I ate no pleasant bread, neither came flesh nor wine in my mouth, neither did I anoint myself at all, till three whole weeks were fulfilled.
  • This is three weeks of days, 21 days x 1.48449 = 31.17 of our years symbolically speaking. (App. 1)
4 And in the four and twentieth day of the first month, as I was by the side of the great river, which is Hiddekel;
  • The Hebrew first month is our April.
  • Hiddekel is mentioned in only one other place in the Bible, the book of Genesis 2.
  • It is one of the rivers mentioned in the Garden of Eden, so he's putting us right back, more or less, to this place where our forefathers started out.
  • If you follow this Heddekel river to modern times, you'll find it is the Tigris River.
  • We see Daniel location on a river that is a dividing line with Babylon on one side and Media Persia on the other, or idol worship on one side and the worship of one God on the other side.
  • Thus we have again God's truth verse Satan's deception.
5 Then I lifted up mine eyes, and looked, and behold a certain man clothed in linen, whose loins were girded with fine gold of Uphaz:

6 His body also was like the beryl, and his face as the appearance of lightning, and his eyes as lamps of fire, and his arms and his feet like in colour to polished brass, and the voice of his words like the voice of a multitude.
  • Notice the one that makes this revelation to Daniel, and you will meet one like Him in Revelation 1:13, therefore understand the magnitude of these prophecies.
  • Revelation 1:13 And in the midst of the seven candlesticks one like unto the Son of man, clothed with a garment down to the foot, and girt about the paps with a golden girdle.
7 And I Daniel alone saw the vision: for the men that were with me saw not the vision; but a great quaking fell upon them, so that they fled to hide themselves.

8 Therefore I was left alone, and saw this great vision, and there remained no strength in me: for my comeliness was turned in me into corruption, and I retained no strength.
  • He was shown here the part that pertains to you in the last days, and he didn't understand.
9 Yet heard I the voice of his words: and when I heard the voice of his words, then was I in a deep sleep on my face, and my face toward the ground.

10 In the third year of Cyrus king of Persia a thing was revealed unto Daniel, whose name was called Belteshazzar; and the thing was true, but the time appointed was long: and he understood the thing, and had understanding of the vision.

11 And he said unto me, O Daniel, a man greatly beloved, understand the words that I speak unto thee, and stand upright: for unto thee am I now sent. And when he had spoken this word unto me, I stood trembling.
  • Upright in Greek means to be resurrected.
  • Many today stand upright, because they have returned to the whole truth and stand up for God.
12 Then said he unto me, Fear not, Daniel: for from the first day that thou didst set thine heart to understand, and to chasten thyself before thy God, thy words were heard, and I am come for thy words.
  • Understand what this angel is telling Daniel, and remember this was three full weeks of days since he started praying.
  • When you thank God daily for the truth, for letting you know who you are, He hears.
  • Never cease to thank Him, because He hears.
13 But the prince of the kingdom of Persia withstood me one and twenty days: but, lo, Michael, one of the chief princes, came to help me; and I remained there with the kings of Persia.
  • In the last days the kingdom of Persia is Satan
  • A mere human prince could not have withstood this mighty one for one moment, much less 21 days.
  • Prince = ruler
  • In John 12:31 Christ refers to Satan as the prince of the world, therefore, the prince of Persia also.
  • To better establish the point, Michael is the one used to man handle Satan.
  • This happens in heaven
  • Revelation 12:7 And there was war in heaven: Michael and his angels fought against the dragon; and the dragon (Satan) fought and his angels,
  • John 12:30 Jesus answered and said, This voice came not because of me, but for your sakes.
31 Now is the judgment of this world: now shall the prince of this world be cast out.
  • Revelation 12:9 And the great dragon was cast out, that old serpent, called the Devil, and Satan, which deceiveth the whole world: he was cast out into the earth, and his angels were cast out with him.
  • Michael means who is like God (Hebrew El)?
14 Now I am come to make thee understand what shall befall thy people in the latter days: for yet the vision is for many days.
  • Latter days = last days which we are now in.
  • And the full plan is outlined in chapters 11 and 12.
  • Daniel 12:6 And one said to the man clothed in linen, which was upon the waters of the river, How long shall it be to the end of these wonders?
15 And when he had spoken such words unto me, I set my face toward the ground, and I became dumb.
  • Psalms 139:1 O Lord, thou hast searched me, and known me.
2 Thou knowest my down sitting and mine uprising, thou understandest my thought afar off.
3 Thou compassest my path and my lying down, and art acquainted with all my ways.
4 For there is not a word in my tongue, but, lo, O Lord, thou knowest it altogether.
5 Thou hast beset me behind and before, and laid thine hand upon me.
6 Such knowledge is too wonderful for me; it is high, I cannot attain unto it.
7 Whither shall I go from thy spirit? or whither shall I flee from thy presence?
8 If I ascend up into heaven, thou art there: if I make my bed in hell, behold, thou art there.
    9 If I take the wings of the morning, and dwell in the uttermost parts of the sea;
10 Even there shall thy hand lead me, and thy right hand shall hold me.
16 And, behold, one like the similitude of the sons of men touched my lips: then I opened my mouth, and spake, and said unto him that stood before me, O my lord, by the vision my sorrows are turned upon me, and I have retained no strength.
  • This prophecy shows how you will be helped when you are delivered up.
  • He shall touch you and will speak through you.
  • Mark 13:11 and Daniel 11:34 gives the sequence of this events.
  • Mark 13:11 But when they shall lead you, and deliver you up, take no thought beforehand what ye shall speak, neither do ye premeditate: but whatsoever shall be given you in that hour, that speak ye: for it is not ye that speak, but the Holy Spirit.
  • Daniel 11:34 Now when they shall fall, they shall be holpen with a little help: but many shall cleave to them with flatteries.
17 For how can the servant of this my lord talk with this my lord? for as for me, straightway there remained no strength in me, neither is there breath left in me.
  • The presence of this one almost over whelmed Daniel.
  • He had seen your destiny.
  • He had seen us delivered up as a witness to God's truth.
  • He saw what would befall the great Christian nations.
  • It is no wonder that Daniel was over whelmed.
18 Then there came again and touched me one like the appearance of a man, and he strengthened me,
  • Always remember that, He'll help you.
  • All you have to do is lean on Him.
  • He will help you, because you are His servant.
19 And said, O man greatly beloved, fear not: peace be unto thee, be strong, yea, be strong. And when he had spoken unto me, I was strengthened, and said, Let my lord speak; for thou hast strengthened me.
  • All your strength and power come from God
20 Then said he, Knowest thou wherefore I come unto thee? and now will I return to fight with the prince of Persia: and when I am gone forth, lo, the prince of Grecia shall come.
  • In history, Alexander the great, took over Media Persia.
  • In prophecy however, in the last days it refers to the Beast (Political System and Satan the false christ).
  • That is to say Satan and his helpers.
  • Grecia = Javan, The fourth "son" of Japheth (Gen 10:2), whose descendants settled in Greece, Ionia, which bears the name of Javan in Hebrew.
  • Gen 10:21 Unto Shem also, the father of all the children of Eber, the brother of Japheth the elder, even to him were children born.
  • Alexander the Great is called the "king of Javan" (rendered "Grecia," Dan 8:21; 10:20; comp. 11:2; Zech 9:13). This word was universally used by the nations of the East as the generic name of the Greek race.
  • Ezekiel 38:2 Son of man, set thy face against Gog, the land of Magog, the chief prince of Meshech (Russia) and Tubal, and prophesy against him,
3 And say, Thus saith the Lord God; Behold I am against thee, O Gog, the chief prince of Meshech and Tubal:
4 And I will turn thee back, and put hooks into thy jaws, and I will bring thee forth, and all thine army, horses and horsemen, all of them clothed with all sorts of armour, even a great company with bucklers and shields, all of them handling swords:
5 Persia, Ethiopia, and Libya with them; all of them with shield and helmet:
6 Gomer, and all his bands; the house of Togarmah of the north quarters, and all his bands: and many people with thee.
7 Be thou prepared, and prepare for thyself, thou, and all thy company that are assembled unto thee, and be thou a guard unto them.
8 After many days thou shalt be visited: in the latter years thou shalt come into the land that is brought back from the sword, and is gathered out of many people, against the mountains of Israel, which have been always waste: but it is brought forth out of the nations, and they shall dwell safely all of them.
9 Thou shalt ascend and come like a storm, thou shalt be like a cloud to cover the land, thou, and all thy bands, and many people with thee.
10 Thus saith the Lord God; It shall also come to pass, that at the same time shall things come into thy mind, and thou shalt think an evil thought:
11 And thou shalt say, I will go up to the land of unwalled villages (Christian Nations); I will go to them that are at rest, that dwell safely, all of them dwelling without walls, and having neither bars nor gates,
12 To take a spoil, and to take a prey; to turn thine hand upon the desolate places that are now inhabited, and upon the people that are gathered out of the nations, which have gotten cattle and goods, that dwell in the midst of the land.
13 Sheba, and Dedan, and the merchants of Tarshish, with all the young lions thereof, shall say unto thee, Art thou come to take a spoil? hast thou gathered thy company to take a prey? to carry away silver and gold, to take away cattle and goods, to take a great spoil?
14 Therefore, son of man, prophesy and say unto Gog, Thus saith the Lord God; In that day when my people of Israel dwelleth safely, shalt thou not know it?
15 And thou shalt come from thy place out of the north parts, thou, and many people with thee, all of them riding upon horses, a great company, and a mighty army:
  • Ezekiel 39:1 Therefore, thou son of man, prophesy against Gog, and say, Thus saith the Lord God; Behold, I am against thee, O Gog, the chief prince of Meshech and Tubal:
2 And I will turn thee back, and leave but the sixth part of thee, and will cause thee to come up from the north parts, and will bring thee upon the mountains of Israel:
3 And I will smite thy bow out of thy left hand, and will cause thine arrows to fall out of thy right hand.
4 Thou shalt fall upon the mountains of Israel, thou, and all thy bands, and the people that is with thee: I will give thee unto the ravenous birds of every sort, and to the beasts of the field to be devoured.
5 Thou shalt fall upon the open field: for I have spoken it, saith the Lord God.
  • Latter days
  • The locust army = 3rd stage = (men) will take over Iran of today.
21 But I will shew thee that which is noted in the scripture of truth: and there is none that holdeth with me in these things, but Michael your prince.
  • We know from Daniel 12:1 that Michael will have a great deal to do with delivering our people.
  • Daniel 12:1 And at that time shall Michael stand up, the great prince which standeth for the children of thy people: and there shall be a time of trouble, such as never was since there was a nation even to that same time: and at that time thy people shall be delivered, every one that shall be found written in the book.
  • Now let us take a close look at the times given in this chapter, Christ states in Mark 13:13-30, that the generation living, when the abomination spoken of by Daniel 12:11 was setup, this generation would not pass away till all things be done.
  • He was addressing the end of this age.
  • The abomination was setup (Ap.1) in our year May 14, 1948.
  • Meaning after May 14, 1948 the hidden visions of Daniel will be revealed, to the elect.
  • Daniel 12:8 And I heard, but I understood not: then said I, O my Lord, what shall be the end of these things?
9 And he said, Go thy way, Daniel: for the words are closed up and sealed till the time of the end.
10 Many shall be purified, and made white, and tried; but the wicked shall do wickedly: and none of the wicked shall understand; but the wise shall understand.
11 And from the time that the daily sacrifice shall be taken away, and the abomination that maketh desolate set up, there shall be a thousand two hundred and ninety days.
12 Blessed is he that waiteth, and cometh to the thousand three hundred and five and thirty days.
13 But go thou thy way till the end be: for thou shalt rest, and stand in thy lot at the end of the days.
  • John 14:17 Even the Spirit of truth; whom the world cannot receive, because it seeth him not, neither knoweth him: but ye know him; for he dwelleth with you, and shall be in you.
  • John 14:26 But the Comforter, which is the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you.
  • It said, Michael will be there for God' elect !!!!! Thank the Lord.. what a time to live...
  • I see 2016 to be a time of trouble starting.. watch and be alert !!!!!

Exactly 2520 years from the exile of Benjamin, Iceland became an independent nation.

The first tribe to be conquered by the Assyrians was Manasseh, in 745 B.C. Exactly 2520 years later America became a nation on July 4, 1776.
