Hosea 11
The Book of Hosea
Hosea 11:1 When Israel was a child, then I
loved him, and called my son out of Egypt.
-
Jeremiah 2:2 Go and cry in the ears of
Jerusalem, saying, Thus saith the LORD; I remember thee, the
kindness of thy youth, the love of thine espousals, when thou
wentest after me in the wilderness, in a land that was not sown.
2 As they called them, so they went from them: they
sacrificed unto Baalim, and burned incense to graven images.
3 I taught Ephraim also to go, taking them by their
arms; but they knew not that I healed them.
-
Exodus 15:26 And said, If thou wilt diligently
hearken to the voice of the LORD thy God, and wilt do that which is
right in his sight, and wilt give ear to his commandments, and keep
all his statutes, I will put none of these diseases upon thee, which
I have brought upon the Egyptians: for I am the LORD that healeth
thee.
4 I drew them with cords of a man, with bands of
love: and I was to them as they that take off the yoke on their jaws,
and I laid meat unto them.
5 He shall not return into the land of Egypt, but
the Assyrian shall be his king, because they refused to return.

Study Isaiah 14 = Satan is a type of the
Assyrian

The Assyrian, Satan was a cedar in Lebanon, (Box
cedar)
-
Ezekiel 31:3 Behold, the Assyrian was a cedar in
Lebanon with fair branches, and with a shadowing
shroud, and of an high stature; and his top was
among the thick boughs.
4 The waters made him great, the deep set him up
on high with her rivers running round about his
plants, and sent out her little rivers unto all
the trees of the field. 5 Therefore his height was exalted above all the
trees of the field, and his boughs were
multiplied, and his branches became long because
of the multitude of waters, when he shot forth. 6 All the fowls of heaven made their nests in
his boughs, and under his branches did all the
beasts of the field bring forth their young, and
under his shadow dwelt all great nations. 7 Thus was he fair in his greatness, in the
length of his branches: for his root was by
great waters. 8 The cedars in the garden of God could not hide
him: the fir trees were not like his boughs, and
the chestnut trees were not like his branches;
nor any tree in the garden of God was like unto
him in his beauty. 9 I have made him fair by the multitude of his
branches: so that all the trees of Eden, that
were in the garden of God, envied him. 10 Therefore thus saith the Lord GOD; Because
thou hast lifted up thyself in height, and he
hath shot up his top among the thick boughs, and
his heart is lifted up in his height; 11 I have therefore delivered him into the hand
of the mighty one of the heathen; he shall
surely deal with him: I have driven him out for
his wickedness.
-
Satan think he was better than anyone
6 And the sword shall abide on his cities, and
shall consume his branches, and devour them, because of their own
counsels.
7 And My people are bent to backsliding from Me:
though they called them to the Most High, none at all would exalt him.
-
My people are bent to backsliding from Me.
He said, They have rejected Me
-
2 Corinthians 11:3 But I fear, lest by any
means, as the serpent beguiled Eve through his
subtilty, so your minds should be corrupted from
the simplicity that is in Christ.
8 How shall I give thee up, Ephraim? how shall I
deliver thee, Israel? how shall I make thee as Admah? how shall I set
thee as Zeboim? mine heart is turned within me, my repentings are
kindled together.
9 I will not execute the fierceness of mine anger,
I will not return to destroy Ephraim: for I am God, and not man; the
Holy One in the midst of thee: and I will not enter into the city.
-
God will hold His anger.
God will not take revenge as a man would.
God will continue to love deceived Israel.
Because of God's Very Elect
10 They shall walk after the Lord: he shall roar like a lion: when he
shall roar, then the children shall tremble from the west.
-
When He roars at your enemies and when He calls
you that final time, you will come from the west
trembling.
-
Zechariah 8:7 Thus saith the LORD of hosts;
Behold, I will save My people from the east
country, and from the west country;
11 They shall tremble as a bird out of Egypt, and as a dove out of the
land of Assyria: and I will place them in their houses, saith the Lord.
-
They will come home to the Father when that time
arrives, and notice it says. He will place them
in their houses.
-
There is absolute power in those words, and
there is also much comfort.
-
They shall tremble as a bird coming out of
captivity from Egypt and as a dove out of the
land dominated by Satan from Assyria and He
shall care for them.
-
This is prophecy, and it shall come to pass.
-
We return to the present in the closing verse of
this chapter.
12 Ephraim compasseth Me about with lies, and the house of Israel with
deceit: but Judah yet ruleth with God, and is faithful with the saints.
-
We know that out of Judah came Christ Himself,
and this is the only part of Judah that is now
returned to God.
-
But it is fact that Christ shall redeem all the
tribes with forgiveness and mercy, if in fact
they accept Him.
Exactly 2520 years from the exile of
Benjamin, Iceland became an independent nation.
The first tribe to be conquered by the
Assyrians was Manasseh, in 745 B.C. Exactly
2520 years later America became a nation on
July 4, 1776.
