Hosea 7

Hosea 7                                                             The Book of Hosea  Book of Hosea

Chapters 7, 8, and 9 in this book of Hosea gives a pretty good glance at the sad state of His people in this day. The Father says, they are half baked; strangers have taken over their power, and they are no longer young and don't even realize it.

Hosea 7:1 When I would have healed Israel, then the iniquity of Ephraim was discovered, and the wickedness of Samaria: for they commit falsehood; and the thief cometh in, and the troop of robbers spoileth without.

2 And they consider not in their hearts that I remember all their wickedness: now their own doings have beset them about; they are before my face.

3 They make the king glad with their wickedness, and the princes with their lies.
  • Princes = Pastors and leaders
  • Hosea 8:4 They have set up kings, but not by me: they have made princes, and I knew it not: of their silver and their gold have they made them idols, that they may be cut off.
  • Your rulers turn things that's wrong to right. The rulers things evil ok. They like to party with them.
4 They are all adulterers, as an oven heated by the baker, who ceaseth from raising after he hath kneeded the dough, until it be leavened.
  • They are half-baked; strangers have taken over their power, and they are no longer young and don't even realize it.
  • All of them (kings, princes, and People are idolaters). "All" is put by Figure of speech Synecdoche (of Genus), for the greater part.
  • Adulterers = idolaters.
  • As = hot like
  • Ceaseth = leaves off.
  • Raising = stoking it.
  • After he hath kneaded  = from "the time of kneading" the dough until it is ready for the fire.
  • Then he heats the oven to stop the fermentation.
  • Even so these idolaters
  • Baker = Their baker sleepeth = their anger smoketh = slip down to verse 6
  • These go the ways of Satan
5 In the day of our king the princes have made him sick with bottles of wine; he stretched out his hand with scorners.

6 For they have made ready their heart like an oven, whiles they lie in wait: their baker sleepeth all the night; in the morning it burneth as a flaming fire.
  • Baker = anger = their anger sleepth all the night..  to think of evil to do the next day. Look at most of congress.
  • A woman of the northern kingdom, and therefore regarded as an idolatress.
  • Because both were characterized by unfaithfulness; the former to a husband, and the latter to God, Who sustained that relation to Israel.
7 They are all hot as an oven, and have devoured their judges; all their kings are fallen: there is none among them that calleth unto me.
  • Your judges and rulers are in bed with them...  saying its ok. Good for nothing .. only evil.
  • They use most of the media to bring confusion on the people.
  • The rulers don't keep my commendments. They do good to do evil.
  • Take a good look at congress. Most are lying good for nothing ... only evil ways. They work for Satan.
  • How does Satan and his seed line deceive the people? Lies
  • Revelation 9:19 For their power is in their mouth (lies), and in their tails: for their tails were like unto serpents, and had heads, and with them they do hurt.
  • This is the description of these supernatural beings. They are not human, they are coming as false pastors
  • 2 Corinthians 11:13 For such are false apostles, deceitful workers, transforming themselves into the apostles of Christ.
14 And no marvel; for Satan himself is transformed into an angel of light.
15 Therefore it is no great thing if his ministers also be transformed as the ministers of righteousness; whose end shall be according to their works.
They come from below. We know of nothing like them.
When God thus describes them nothing ought to be easier than to believe what He says.
    They're wicked and evil spirits.
The work of their hands, always points to idolatry.
They will lead you to Satan .. Their power is in their mouth... flood of lies and blowing smoke out of their mouth
Revelation 12:15- And the serpent cast out of his mouth (lies) water as a flood after the woman, that he might cause her to be carried away of the flood.
Matthew 24:38 For as in the days that were before the flood they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day that Noah entered into the ark.
Tails in Isaiah 9:15 The ancient and honourable, he is the head; and the prophet that teacheth lies, he is the tail.
16 For the leaders of this people cause them to err; and they that are led of them are destroyed.
17 Therefore the Lord shall have no joy in their young men, neither shall have mercy on their fatherless and widows: for every one is an hypocrite and an evildoer, and every mouth speaketh folly. For all this his anger is not turned away, but his hand is stretched out still.
18 For wickedness burneth as the fire: it shall devour the briers and thorns, and shall kindle in the thickets of the forest, and they shall mount up like the lifting up of smoke.
    Eph 4:14 That we henceforth be no more children, tossed to and fro, and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the sleight of men, and cunning craftiness, whereby they lie in wait to deceive;
15 But speaking the truth in love, may grow up into him in all things, which is the head, even Christ:
16 From whom the whole body fitly joined together and compacted by that which every joint supplieth, according to the effectual working in the measure of every part, maketh increase of the body unto the edifying of itself in love.
8 Ephraim, he hath mixed himself among the people; Ephraim is a cake not turned.
  • The Father says, they are half baked; strangers have taken over their power, and they are no longer young and don't even realize it.
  • Israel don't even know who they are
9 Strangers have devoured his strength, and he knoweth it not: yea, gray hairs are here and there upon him, yet he knoweth not.
  • They don't study to understand the Fathers Word; they are half baked; strangers have taken over their power, and they are no longer young and don't even realize it.
  • Their leaders are strangers and foreign to the Father's word and act accordingly trampling their strength.
  • While time passes and the end nears, they go their own way, careless and unheeding of the signs of the times.
  • Hosea 4:6 My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge: because thou hast rejected knowledge, I will also reject thee, that thou shalt be no priest to me: seeing thou hast forgotten the law of thy God, I will also forget thy children
10 And the pride of Israel testifieth to his face: and they do not return to the Lord their God, nor seek him for all this.
  • My people don't even try, they don't seek Me or My Word
11 Ephraim also is like a silly dove without heart: they call to Egypt, they go to Assyria.
  • Ephraim = 10 tribes
  • They say, let call on others nations, they never call on God for guideness
12 When they shall go, I will spread my net upon them; I will bring them down as the fowls of the heaven; I will chastise them, as their congregation hath heard.

13 Woe unto them! for they have fled from me: destruction unto them! because they have transgressed against me: though I have redeemed them, yet they have spoken lies against me.
  • Yet they have spoken lies against Me
  • How?
  • They have turned away from the truth
  • They're half baked and stupid
  • Jeremiah 4:22 For my people is foolish, they have not known me; they are sottish children, and they have none understanding: they are wise to do evil, but to do good they have no knowledge.
  • Sottish means To be silly,  to be stupid
14 And they have not cried unto me with their heart, when they howled upon their beds: they assemble themselves for corn and wine, and they rebel against me.
  • They mock God, They mock Christians
15 Though I have bound and strengthened their arms, yet do they imagine mischief against me.

16 They return, but not to the most High: they are like a deceitful bow: their princes shall fall by the sword for the rage of their tongue: this shall be their derision in the land of Egypt.
  • Tongues = lies
  • Remember, God deliver Israel out of Egypt
  • But now = they don't seek Me for answers
  • They look for answers somewhere else
  • Don't be like Zedekiah
