Promises of God
John 3:16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that
whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
-
Whosoever = the condition = You have to do your
part = you have to believe in Him and keep His
Commandments
17 For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but
that the world through him might be saved.
18 He that believeth on Him is not condemned: but he that
believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the
only begotten Son of God.
19 And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and
men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil.
20 For every one that doeth evil hateth the light, neither cometh to the
light, lest his deeds should be reproved.
21 But he that doeth truth cometh to the light, that his deeds may be
made manifest, that they are wrought in God.
James 1:12 Blessed is the man that endureth temptation: for when he is tried, he
shall receive the crown of life, which the Lord hath
promised to them
that love him.
John 6:35 And Jesus said unto them, I am the bread of life:
he that cometh to me shall never hunger; and he that believeth on me
shall never thirst.
-
Believeth = condition = the condition = You have
to do your part = you have to believe in Him and
keep His Commandments
36 But I said unto you, That ye also have seen me, and believe not.
37 All that the Father giveth me shall come to me; and him that cometh
to me I will in no wise cast out.
38 For I came down from heaven, not to do mine own will, but the will of
him that sent me.
39 And this is the Father's will which hath sent me, that of all
which he hath given me I should lose nothing, but should raise
it up again at the last day.
40 And this is the will of him that sent me, that every one which seeth
the Son, and believeth on him, may have everlasting life: and I will
raise him up at the last day.
-
Believeth = condition = the condition = You have
to do your part = you have to believe in Him and
keep His Commandments
41 The Jews then murmured at him, because he said, I am the bread which
came down from heaven.
42 And they said, Is not this Jesus, the son of Joseph, whose father and
mother we know? how is it then that he saith, I came down from heaven?
43 Jesus therefore answered and said unto them, Murmur not among
yourselves.
44 No man can come to me, except the Father which hath
sent me draw him: and I will raise him up at the last day.
45 It is written in the prophets, And they shall be all taught
of God. Every man therefore that hath heard, and hath learned
of the Father, cometh unto me.
46 Not that any man hath seen the Father, save he which is of God, he
hath seen the Father.
47 Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me hath
everlasting life.
-
Believeth = condition = the condition = You have
to do your part = you have to believe in Him and
keep His Commandments
48 I am that bread of life.
49 Your fathers did eat manna in the wilderness, and are dead.
50 This is the bread which cometh down from heaven, that a man may eat
thereof, and not die.
51 I am the living bread which came down from heaven:
if any man eat of this bread, he shall live for ever:
and the bread that I will give is my flesh, which I will give for the
life of the world.
-
John 3:16 If you believe in Him you shall live
for ever = this is the condition
Amos 9:9 For, lo, I will command, and I will sift the house of Israel among all
nations, like as corn is sifted in a sieve, yet shall not the least
grain fall upon the earth.
10 All the sinners of My people shall die by the sword, which say, The
evil shall not overtake nor prevent us.
-
They are spiritually dead, they don't know who
they are or God's Word (Ezekiel 37)
11 In that day will I raise up the tabernacle of David that is fallen,
and close up the breaches thereof; and I will raise up his ruins, and I
will build it as in the days of old:
12 That they may possess the remnant of Edom, and of all the heathen,
which are called by my name, saith the Lord that doeth this.
-
Edom = Russia
-
Heathen = nations
-
Who does this?
-
God
Isaiah 54:1 Sing, O barren, thou that didst not bear; break forth into
singing, and cry aloud, thou that didst not travail with child:
for more are the children of the desolate than the children of
the married wife, saith the Lord.
-
More are the children of the desolate than the children of
the married wife
2 Enlarge the place of thy tent, and let them stretch forth the curtains
of thine habitations: spare not, lengthen thy cords, and strengthen thy
stakes;
3 For thou shalt break forth on the right hand and on the left; and thy
seed shall inherit the Gentiles, and make the desolate cities to be
inhabited.
4 Fear not; for thou shalt not be ashamed: neither be thou confounded;
for thou shalt not be put to shame: for thou shalt forget the shame of
thy youth, and shalt not remember the reproach of thy widowhood any
more.
5 For thy Maker is thine husband; the Lord of
hosts is his name; and thy Redeemer the Holy One of Israel; The
God of the whole earth shall he be called.
6 For the Lord hath called thee as a woman forsaken and grieved in
spirit, and a wife of youth, when thou wast refused,
saith thy God.
7 For a small moment have I forsaken thee; but with great mercies will I
gather thee.
8 In a little wrath I hid my face from thee for a moment; but with
everlasting kindness will I have mercy on thee, saith the Lord thy
Redeemer.
9 For this is as the waters of Noah unto me: for as I
have sworn that the waters of Noah should no more go over the earth; so
have I sworn that I would not be wroth with thee, nor rebuke thee.
Isaiah 43:25 I, even I, am he that blotteth out thy transgressions
for mine own sake, and will not remember thy sins.
-
God will forgive you for your sins
-
It's man that teaches, God will not forgive you
for your sins
26 Put me in remembrance: let us plead together: declare thou, that thou
mayest be justified.
-
God said, let's talk together and remind Me of
My Promises
-
God wants to know if you have read His word
-
Do you know God's promises to His Children
-
You have to ask Him, before he will guide you
-
If you don't know the promises, how are you
going to ask Him for the promises?
Acts 8:26 And the angel of the Lord spake unto Philip, saying,
Arise, and go toward the south unto the way that goeth down from
Jerusalem unto Gaza, which is desert.
-
Philip = a lover of horses
-
Who was guiding Philip?
-
The angel of the Lord, in the present of God
-
This was a command of God
-
Gaza is where there has always been trouble, and
still now.
27 And he arose and went: and, behold, a man of Ethiopia, an eunuch of
great authority under Candace queen of the Ethiopians, who had the
charge of all her treasure, and had come to Jerusalem for to worship,
-
Candace = A title of the queens of Ethiopia
28 Was returning, and sitting in his chariot read Esaias the prophet.
29 Then the Spirit said unto Philip, Go near, and join thyself to this
chariot.
-
Just as the end times, God going to guide those
that love Him and try to do what's right
30 And Philip ran thither to him, and heard him read the prophet Esaias,
and said, Understandest thou what thou readest?
-
God going to use Philip to do his plan
31 And he said, How can I, except some man should guide me? And he
desired Philip that he would come up and sit with him.
-
Guide me = Holy Spirit
-
God does the guiding, through the Holy spirit
-
Who told Philip where to go?
32 The place of the scripture which he read was this, He was led as a
sheep to the slaughter; and like a lamb dumb before his shearer, so
opened he not his mouth:
33 In his humiliation his judgment was taken away: and who shall declare
his generation? for his life is taken from the earth.
34 And the eunuch answered Philip, and said, I pray thee, of whom
speaketh the prophet this? of himself, or of some other man?
-
People need guides, but they need to know how to
guide.
35 Then Philip opened his mouth, and began at the same scripture, and
preached unto him Jesus.
36 And as they went on their way, they came unto a certain water: and
the eunuch said, See, here is water; what doth hinder me to be baptized?
37 And Philip said, If thou believest with all thine heart, thou mayest.
And he answered and said, I believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God.
-
Here's the condition, IF thou believest
-
And he said, I believe that Jesus Christ is the
Son of God.
38 And he commanded the chariot to stand still: and they went down both
into the water, both Philip and the eunuch; and he baptized him.
-
Acts 21:9 And the same man had four
daughters, virgins, which did prophesy.
10 And as we tarried there many days, there came
down from Judæa a certain prophet, named Agabus.
11 And when he was come unto us, he took Paul's
girdle, and bound his own hands and feet, and
said, Thus saith the Holy Spirit, So shall the
Jews at Jerusalem bind the man that owneth this
girdle, and shall deliver him into the hands of
the Gentiles.
-
Philip and his three daughters
did prophesy to the people
-
Judah never conquer this, but God use one man
and these three daughters to teach the people, remember God dose the
guiding.
39 And when they were come up out of the water, the Spirit of the Lord
caught away Philip, that the eunuch saw him no more: and he went on his
way rejoicing.
40 But Philip was found at Azotus: and passing through he preached in
all the cities, till he came to Cæsarea.
John 14:21 He that hath my commandments, and keepeth
them, he it is that loveth me: and he that loveth me shall be loved of
my Father, and I will love him, and will manifest myself to him.
-
He that hath my commandments, and keepeth them =
This is a condition
-
Manifest = I will guide him
22 Judas saith unto him, not Iscariot, Lord, how is it that thou wilt
manifest thyself unto us, and not unto the world?
23 Jesus answered and said unto him, If a man love me, he will keep my
words: and my Father will love him, and we will come unto him, and make
our abode with him.
-
Here's the condition again, If a man love me, he
will keep my word.
-
My Father will love him, and We will come unto
him, and make Our abode with him.
24 He that loveth me not keepeth not my sayings: and the word which ye
hear is not mine, but the Father's which sent me.
-
God not going to guide you, if your not doing
things God's ways
-
You can't live in darkness and follow Satan ways
and think God's going to help you
-
Most people want to live as the world, then when
something goes wrong they want to blame God.
-
Look at the food
laws, God said, don't eat pork.
-
What does man do?
-
Some will tell you Jesus came to destroy all the
laws, you don't have to obey God's laws.
-
What did Jesus said?
-
Matthew 5:17 Think not that I am come to
destroy the law, or the prophets:
I am not come to destroy, but to fulfil.
18 For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and
earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no
wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled.
19 Whosoever therefore shall break one
of these least commandments, and shall teach men
so, he shall be called the least in the kingdom
of heaven: but whosoever shall do and
teach them, the same shall be called
great in the kingdom of heaven.
-
Hebrew 8:10 For this is the covenant that I will
make with the house of Israel after those days,
saith the Lord; I will put my laws into their
mind, and write them in their hearts: and I will
be to them a God, and they shall be to me a
people:
11 And they shall not teach every man his
neighbour, and every man his brother, saying,
Know the Lord: for all shall know me, from the
least to the greatest.
12 For I will be merciful to their
unrighteousness, and their sins and their
iniquities will I remember no more.
-
They listen to man and eat and get sick, now
they want to blame God for being sick.
-
Isaiah 65:4 Which remain among
the graves, and lodge in the monuments, which eat swine's
flesh, and broth of abominable things is in their vessels;
5 Which say, Stand by thyself,
come not near to me; for
I am holier than thou.
These are a smoke in my
nose, a fire that burneth all the day.
-
What happen to smoke?
25 These things have I spoken unto you, being yet present with you.
26 But the Comforter, which is the Holy Spirit whom the Father will send
in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your
remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you.
-
He shall teach you all things
-
He will bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever
I have said unto you
-
Who does this?
-
God, will sent the Holy Spirit to you, this is a
promise
-
If you follow Him and keep His Commandments the
best you can, no man is perfect
-
Isaiah 43:25 I, even I, am he that blotteth out
thy transgressions for mine own sake, and will
not remember thy sins.
26 Put me in remembrance: let us plead together:
declare thou, that thou mayest be justified.
27 Thy first father hath sinned, and thy
teachers have transgressed against me.
28 Therefore I have profaned the princes of the
sanctuary, and have given Jacob to the curse,
and Israel to reproaches.
27 Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world
giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it
be afraid.
-
He is saying, don't worry
-
I leave you peace, IF you do things My Ways
28 Ye have heard how I said unto you, I go away, and come again unto
you. If ye loved me, ye would rejoice, because I said, I go unto the
Father: for my Father is greater than I.
-
Jesus says, I will be with My Father ask and I
will guide you
9 And now I have told you before it come to pass, that, when it is come
to pass, ye might believe.
30 Hereafter I will not talk much with you: for the prince of this world
cometh, and hath nothing in me.
-
The prince of this world cometh = Satan
31 But that the world may know that I love the Father; and as the Father
gave me commandment, even so I do. Arise, let us go hence.
-
1 Corinthian 10:13 There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is
faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will
with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it.
-
God's not going to test you more than you can
handle.
-
He's saying, nothing going to happen to you that
hasn't happen to others
Psalms 143:1 A Psalm of David. Hear my prayer, O Lord, give ear to my
supplications: in thy faithfulness answer me, and in thy righteousness.
2 And enter not into judgment with thy servant: for in thy sight shall
no man living be justified.
3 For the enemy hath persecuted my soul; he hath smitten my life down to
the ground; he hath made me to dwell in darkness, as those that have
been long dead.
4 Therefore is my spirit overwhelmed within me; my heart within me is
desolate.
5 I remember the days of old; I meditate on all thy works; I muse on the
work of thy hands.
6 I stretch forth my hands unto thee: my soul thirsteth after thee, as a
thirsty land. Selah.
7 Hear me speedily, O Lord: my spirit faileth: hide not thy face from
me, lest I be like unto them that go down into the pit.
8 Cause me to hear thy lovingkindness in the morning; for in thee do I
trust: cause me to know the way wherein I should walk; for I lift up my
soul unto thee.
9 Deliver me, O Lord, from mine enemies: I flee unto thee to hide me.
10 Teach me to do thy will; for thou art my God: thy spirit is good;
lead me into the land of uprightness.
-
Teach me = guide me
-
Teach = OT:3925 = a primitive root; properly, to
goad, (by implication) to teach expert,
instruct, learn, skilful, teach
11 Quicken me, O Lord, for thy name's sake: for thy righteousness' sake
bring my soul out of trouble.
12 And of thy mercy cut off mine enemies, and destroy all them that
afflict my soul: for I am thy servant.
Psalms 25:1 A Psalm of David. Unto thee, O Lord, do I
lift up my soul.
2 O my God, I trust in thee: let me not be ashamed, let not mine enemies
triumph over me.
-
Put your trust in God, not man
3 Yea, let none that wait on thee be ashamed: let them be ashamed which
transgress without cause.
4 Shew me thy ways, O Lord; teach me thy paths.
5 Lead me in thy truth, and teach me: for thou art the God of my
salvation; on thee do I wait all the day.
6 Remember, O Lord, thy tender mercies and thy loving kindnesses; for
they have been ever of old.
7 Remember not the sins of my youth, nor my transgressions: according to
thy mercy remember thou me for thy goodness' sake, O Lord.
8 Good and upright is the Lord: therefore will he teach sinners in the
way.
9 The meek will he guide in judgment: and the meek will he teach his
way.
-
Remind Him of all your decisions, ask He to
guide you
10 All the paths of the Lord are mercy and truth unto such as keep his
covenant and his testimonies.
11 For thy name's sake, O Lord, pardon mine iniquity; for it is great.
12 What man is he that feareth the Lord? him shall he teach in the way
that he shall choose.
13 His soul shall dwell at ease; and his seed shall inherit the earth.
14 The secret of the Lord is with them that fear him; and he will shew
them his covenant.
15 Mine eyes are ever toward the Lord; for he shall pluck my feet out of
the net.
16 Turn thee unto me, and have mercy upon me; for I am desolate and
afflicted.
17 The troubles of my heart are enlarged: O bring thou me out of my
distresses.
-
Ask Him to lead you out of all your troubles
18 Look upon mine affliction and my pain; and forgive all my sins.
19 Consider mine enemies; for they are many; and they hate me with cruel
hatred.
20 O keep my soul, and deliver me: let me not be ashamed; for I put my
trust in thee.
21 Let integrity and uprightness preserve me; for I wait on thee.
22 Redeem Israel, O God, out of all his troubles.
Roman 9:4 Who are Israelites; to whom pertaineth the adoption, and the
glory, and the covenants, and the giving of the law, and the service of
God, and the promises;
5 Whose are the fathers, and of whom as concerning the flesh Christ
came, who is over all, God blessed for ever. Amen.
6 Not as though the word of God hath taken none effect. For they
are not all Israel, which are of Israel:
7 Neither, because they are the seed of Abraham, are
they all children: but, In Isaac shall thy seed be called.
8 That is, They which are the children of the flesh, these are not the
children of God: but the children of the
promise are counted for the seed.
9 For this is the word of promise, At this time will I
come, and Sara shall have a son.
2 Corinthians 1:20 For all the promises of God in him are yea, and in him
Amen, unto the glory of God by us.
21 Now he which stablisheth us with you in Christ, and hath anointed us,
is God;
22 Who hath also sealed us, and given the earnest of the Spirit in our
hearts.
23 Moreover I call God for a record upon my soul, that to spare you I
came not as yet unto Corinth.
24 Not for that we have dominion over your faith, but are helpers of
your joy: for by faith ye stand.
Gal 3:16 Now to Abraham and his seed were the promises made.
He saith not, And to seeds, as of many; but as of one, And to
thy seed, which is Christ.
17 And this I say, that the covenant, that was confirmed before of God
in Christ, the law, which was four hundred and thirty years after,
cannot disannul, that it should make the promise of none effect.
18 For if the inheritance be of the law, it is no more of promise: but
God gave it to Abraham by promise.
19 Wherefore then serveth the law? It was added because of
transgressions, till the seed should come to whom the promise was made;
and it was ordained by angels in the hand of a mediator.
20 Now a mediator is not a mediator of one, but God is one.
21 Is the law then against the promises of God? God forbid: for if there
had been a law given which could have given life, verily righteousness
should have been by the law.
