The Rich Man In Heaven
Luke 15:7 I say unto you, that likewise joy shall be in
heaven over one sinner that repenteth, more than over ninety and
nine just persons, which need no repentance.
Colossians
2:1 For I would that ye knew what great conflict I have for you, and for
them at Laodicea, and for as many as have not seen my face in the flesh;
2 That their hearts might be comforted, being knit together in love, and
unto all riches of the full assurance of understanding, to the
acknowledgement of the mystery of God, and of the Father, and of Christ;
3 In whom are hid all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge.
4 And this I say, lest any man should beguile you with enticing words.
-
Lest any man should beguile
you with enticing words.
5 For though I be absent in the flesh, yet am I with you in the spirit,
joying and beholding your order, and the sted fastness of your faith in
Christ.
6 As ye have therefore received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk ye in
him:
7 Rooted and built up in him, and stablished in the faith, as ye have
been taught, abounding therein with thanksgiving.
8 Beware lest any man spoil you through philosophy and vain deceit,
after the tradition of men, after the rudiments of the world, and not
after Christ.
Matthew 6:20 But lay up for yourselves
treasures in
heaven, where neither moth nor rust doth corrupt, and where
thieves do not break through nor steal:
21 For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also.
22 The light of the body is the eye: if therefore thine eye be
single, thy whole body shall be full of light.
Mark 10:21 Then Jesus beholding him loved him, and said unto
him, One thing thou lackest: go thy way, sell whatsoever thou
hast, and give to the poor, and thou shalt have treasure in
heaven: and come, take up the cross, and follow me.
Don't worry about things of this world = don't go out and buy
things on credit
Matthew 6:33 But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his
righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.
34 Take therefore no thought for the morrow: for the morrow
shall take thought for the things of itself. Sufficient unto the
day is the evil thereof.
Matthew 13:44 Again, the kingdom of heaven is like
unto treasure hid in a field; the which when a man hath found,
he hideth, and for joy thereof goeth and selleth all that he
hath, and buyeth that field.
-
Truth is the most valuable thing in the world.
Knowledge will take you into eternity with many
riches.
-
Three Parables, Another, Another, Another. This
word marks and links together the last three
parables.
-
Treasure is the truth, the field is the world,
The truth in the world, is your treasure.
-
Put all your riches in understanding God's word
-
Colossians 2:2 That their hearts might be

all riches of the full assurance of

45 Again, the kingdom of heaven is like
unto a merchant man, seeking goodly pearls:
-
That is how valuable God's truth should be to
you.
-
Seeking wisdom, knowledge and understand not
things of this world
-
Proverbs 3:13 Happy is the man that findeth
wisdom, and the man that getteth understanding.
14 For the merchandise of it is better than the
merchandise of silver, and the gain thereof than
fine gold.
15 She is more precious than rubies: and all the
things thou canst desire are not to be compared
unto her.
-
Job 28:17 The gold and the crystal cannot equal
it: and the exchange of it shall not be for
jewels of fine gold.
18 No mention shall be made of coral, or of
pearls: for the price of wisdom is above rubies.
46 Who, when
he had found one pearl of great price, went and sold all that he
had, and bought it.
-
The Lord has paid the price for us, on the
cross. It's free to us. We are to search for His
truth and help others. Learn who your enemies
are.
-
Colossians 2:3 In whom are
hid all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge.
4 And this I say, lest any man should beguile
you with enticing words.
47 Again, the kingdom of heaven is
like unto a net, that was cast into the sea, and gathered of
every kind:
-
All are gather the good and bad, This is the
Lord's day
-
Rev 3:9 Behold, I will make them of the
synagogue of Satan, which say they are Jews, and
are not, but do lie; behold, I will make them to
come and worship before thy feet, and to know
that I have loved thee.
10 Because thou hast kept the word of my
patience, I also will keep thee from the hour of
temptation, which shall come upon all the world,
to try them that dwell upon the earth.
11 Behold, I come quickly: hold that fast which
thou hast, that no man take thy crown.
-
Matthew 24: All good and bad will be gather,
this is at the 7th trumpet, all will be changed
into their spiritual body and The Lord is here
on earth, for 1000 years, this is the
millennium.
-
Matthew 24:29 Immediately after the tribulation of those days shall the sun
be darkened, and the moon shall not give her light, and the
stars shall fall from heaven, and the powers of the heavens
shall be shaken:
-
6th seal -
Question, who shall be able to stand against Satan?
30 And then shall appear the sign of the
Son of man in heaven: and then shall all the tribes of the earth
mourn, and they shall see the Son of man coming in the clouds of
heaven with power and great glory.
7th trump - After Satan tribulation, then the
appear the sign of the Son of man in heaven:
31 And he shall send
his angels with a great sound of a trumpet, and they shall
gather together his elect from the four winds, from one end of
heaven to the other.
7th trump - After Satan tribulation, then shall
appear the sign of the Son of man in heaven:
Roman 11:12 Now if the fall of them be the riches of the world, and the
diminishing of them the riches of the Gentiles; how much more
their fullness?
-
In other words, if Israel's stumbling and
deception brings riches to the world, if their
loss brings riches to the Gentiles; what a great
thing Israel becomes by being a blessing to the
whole world.
-
And of course, we remember the covenant with
Abraham that he would be the father of many
nations.
-
He would even be a blessing to the ethnos, and
we know this has come to pass through Christ.
Matthew 6:19 Lay not up for yourselves treasures upon earth, where moth
and rust doth corrupt, and where thieves break through and steal:
20 But lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor
rust doth corrupt, and where thieves do not break through nor steal:
21 For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also.
22 The light of the body is the eye: if therefore thine eye be single,
thy whole body shall be full of light.
23 But if thine eye be evil, thy whole body shall be full of darkness.
If therefore the light that is in thee be darkness, how great is that
darkness!
Matthew 19:21 Jesus said unto him, If thou wilt be perfect, go and sell
that thou hast, and give to the poor, and thou shalt have treasure in
heaven: and come and follow me.
22 But when the young man heard that saying, he went away sorrowful: for
he had great possessions.
-
Sorrowful means grieving
-
Great means many
23 Then said Jesus unto his disciples, Verily I say unto you, That a
rich man shall hardly enter into the kingdom of heaven.
24 And again I say unto you, It is easier for a camel to go through the
eye of a needle, than for a rich man to enter into the kingdom of God.
-
Camel with its burden, not a cable, as some
suggest
-
The eye of a needle, was a small door fixed in a
gate and opened after night.
-
To pass through, the camel must be unloaded
25 When his disciples heard it, they were exceedingly amazed, saying,
Who then can be saved?
26 But Jesus beheld them, and said unto them, With men this is
impossible; but with God all things are possible.
27 Then answered Peter and said unto him, Behold, we have forsaken all,
and followed thee; what shall we have therefore?
28 And Jesus said unto them, Verily I say unto you, That ye which have
followed me, in the regeneration when the Son of man shall sit in the
throne of his glory, ye also shall sit upon twelve thrones, judging the
twelve tribes of Israel.
29 And every one that hath forsaken houses, or brethren, or sisters, or
father, or mother, or wife, or children, or lands, for my name's sake,
shall receive an hundredfold, and shall inherit everlasting life.
30 But many that are first shall be last; and the last shall be first.
Mark 10:21 Then Jesus beholding him loved him, and said
unto him, One thing thou lackest: go thy way, sell whatsoever thou hast,
and give to the poor, and thou shalt have treasure in heaven: and come,
take up the cross, and follow me.
22 And he was sad at that saying, and went away grieved: for he had
great possessions.
23 And Jesus looked round about, and saith unto his disciples, How
hardly shall they that have riches enter into the kingdom of God!
24 And the disciples were astonished at his words. But Jesus answereth
again, and saith unto them, Children, how hard is it for them that trust
in riches to enter into the kingdom of God!
-
Jesus is saying don't put your trust in riches, but put your trust in
God
-
trust in = rely upon, referring to feeling rather than to faith
25 It is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle, than for
a rich man to enter into the kingdom of God.
-
Needle meaning a narrow gate
26 And they were astonished out of measure, saying among themselves, Who
then can be saved?
27 And Jesus looking upon them saith, With men it is impossible, but not
with God: for with God all things are possible.
Luke 18:22 Now when Jesus heard these things, he said
unto him, Yet lackest thou one thing: sell all that thou hast, and
distribute unto the poor, and thou shalt have treasure in heaven: and
come, follow me.
23 And when he heard this, he was very sorrowful: for he was very rich.
24 And when Jesus saw that he was very sorrowful, he said, How hardly
shall they that have riches enter into the kingdom of God!
25 For it is easier for a camel to go through a needle's eye, than for a
rich man to enter into the kingdom of God.
26 And they that heard it said, Who then can be saved?
27 And he said, The things which are impossible with men are possible
with God.
28 Then Peter said, Lo, we have left all, and followed thee.
29 And he said unto them, Verily I say unto you, There is no man that
hath left house, or parents, or brethren, or wife, or children, for the
kingdom of God's sake,
30 Who shall not receive manifold more in this present time, and in the
world to come life everlasting.
31 Then he took unto him the twelve, and said unto them, Behold, we go
up to Jerusalem, and all things that are written by the prophets
concerning the Son of man shall be accomplished.
32 For he shall be delivered unto the Gentiles, and shall be mocked, and
spitefully entreated, and spitted on:
33 And they shall scourge him, and put him to death: and the third day
he shall rise again.
34 And they understood none of these things: and this saying was hid
from them, neither knew they the things which were spoken.
35 And it came to pass, that as he was come nigh unto Jericho, a certain
blind man sat by the way side begging:
36 And hearing the multitude pass by, he asked what it meant.
37 And they told him, that Jesus of Nazareth passeth by.
38 And he cried, saying, Jesus, thou Son of David, have mercy on me.
