Corona Borealis, or the "Northern Crown"

 

Corona Borealis, or the "Northern Crown", is a semicircle of stars that rises just east of the northern part of Bootes. It is one of the constellations which can be easily recognized as bearing a resemblance to the object for which it is named. Most of the principal stars in this sign are of the white, twinkling kind, so that the crown is fully jeweled. The Arabic name of this sign . is "AI Iclil", meaning: "an ornament" or "jewel".

 

The Hebrew name for this constellation is "A tarah", meaning a "royal crown". This star name is found quite a number of times in the Old Testament, but Isaiah 28:5 is one of the most fitting references to the most perfect of all royal diadems: "In that day, shall the LORD of hosts be for a crown (Atarah) of glory, and for a diadem of beauty, unto the residue of his people." Here we see revealed that the "crown of glory" of the people of God is the Lord Himself. He, Himself, is the "diadem of beauty" of His elect.

Isaiah 28:5 In that day shall the LORD of hosts be for a crown of glory, and for a diadem of beauty, unto the residue of his people.

 

Just as the Southern Cross follows and is connected with the Northern Crown, so the death of the great Redeemer is followed by his triumphant reward. Christ was brought up again out of death in immortal beauty and glory, "and a crown was given unto him". Thou are worthy ... for thou wast slain and has redeemed us to God by thy blood. "Wherefore God also hath highly exalted Him, and given Him a name which is above every name, that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow".

 

Revelation 5:8 And when he had taken the book, the four beasts and four and twenty elders fell down before the Lamb, having every one of them harps, and golden vials full of odours, which are the prayers of saints.

 

Philippians 2:10 That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth;

 

11 And that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.

Thus ends the concluding section of the second chapter, with glory to the Lamb. An extension of this prophecy is yet future when, at the Second Coming of the Redeemer, " ... every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father' (Phil. 2:11).

He would punish them for seven times, (a time being 360 years, seven times would be 2520 years) and would banish them from the land of Palestine and scatter them among the heathens (like lost sheep)
