1 Corinthians 13
1 Corinthians 13:1 Though I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, and
have not charity, I am become as sounding brass, or a tinkling cymbal.

Tongues = Language

Angels knows and understand all languages

Though = If
-
If I speak with the language of men and of
angels, and have not love = you're speaking
without understanding.

Sounding = roaring

Luke 21:25
And there shall be signs in the sun, and in
the moon, and in the stars; and upon the earth
distress of nations, with perplexity; the sea
and the waves roaring;

Brass = Elsewhere (money)

Matthews 10:9 Provide
neither gold, nor silver, nor brass in your
purses

Revelation 18:12 The merchandise of gold, and silver,
and precious stones, and of pearls, and fine linen, and purple,

Tinkling = An onomatopoeic word as of the battle
shout

Joshua 6:20 So the people shouted when the
priests blew with the trumpets: and it came to
pass, when the people heard the sound of the
trumpet, and the people shouted with a great
shout, that the wall fell down flat, so that the
people went up into the city, every man straight
before him, and they took the city.

Love more excellent than gifts

Love the pre-eminent grace
2 And though I have the gift of prophecy, and understand all mysteries, and all
knowledge; and though I have all faith, so that I could remove mountains, and
have not charity, I am nothing.

Remove = Acts 13:22 And when he had removed him,
he raised up unto them David to be their king;
to whom also he gave testimony, and said, I have
found David the son of Jesse, a man after mine
own heart, which shall fulfil all my will.

You have to make a stand, you need tough love to
correct those that do wrong

You are to forgive your love ones, but don't
forget what they have done to you = be wiser
than the serpent
-
You don't need to go around family members that
do wicked, but if they asked for help in the
word, helped them.
3 And though I bestow all my goods to feed the poor, and though I give my body
to be burned, and have not charity, it profiteth me nothing.

Bestow = give away in doles
-
Roman 12:20 Therefore if thine enemy hunger,
feed him; if he thirst, give him drink: for in
so doing thou shalt heap coals of fire on his
head.
21 Be not overcome of evil, but overcome evil
with good.

You can help and teach = but without love
= It nothing
-
Some only think of money and not family
-
Love brings compassion
-
Goods = the things belonging to me

Luke 9:48 And said unto them, Whosoever shall
receive this child in my name receiveth me: and
whosoever shall receive me receiveth him that
sent me: for he that is least among you all, the
same shall be great.

Give = deliver up
-
John 19:30 When Jesus therefore had received the
vinegar, he said, It is finished: and he bowed
his head, and gave up the spirit.

To be = in order that it may be
-
It profiteth = I am nothing profited
4 Charity suffereth long, and is kind; charity envieth not; charity vaunteth not
itself, is not puffed up,

Love brings Patients
-
Acts 7:9 And the patriarchs, moved with envy,
sold Joseph into Egypt: but God was with him,
5 Doth not behave itself unseemly, seeketh not her own, is not easily provoked,
thinketh no evil;

Plan for the best, not the worse = Never plan
anything in anger
-
You have to have love, try and do what's right
-
Don't make decision on hate
-
Is easily provoked = is roused to anger
-
There is no word for "easily" = The statement is
absolute
-
Thinketh no evil = reckons not the evil (done to
it)
6 Rejoiceth not in iniquity, but rejoiceth in the truth;

Iniquity = righteousness
-
Don't go look for trouble
-
Truth = God's word
-
Rejoiceth in the truth = rejoiceth with the
truth as it wins its way, truth being
personified.
7 Beareth all things, believeth all things, hopeth all things, endureth all
things.
-
Beareth = here it means "is forbearing in all
provocations"
-
Don't have hate in your heart, but stand up and
do what's right
-
If they want to take God's name out of our
schools. etc.. vote for someone that's going to
stand for God and do what's right.
8 Charity never faileth: but whether there be prophecies, they shall fail;
whether there be tongues, they shall cease; whether there be knowledge, it shall
vanish away.

Faileth = all the texts read "falleth"

Fail = be brought to nought
-
Roman 3:3 For what if some did not believe?
shall their unbelief make the faith of God
without effect?

Gifts only transient
-
You will always speak in the language you was
born with = think in that language
9 For we know in part, and we prophesy in part.
10 But when that which is perfect is come, then that which is in part shall be
done away.

When Christ comes at the seventh trump = once
All have been changed back into your own
spiritual body

That which is in part shall be done away = Done
away = same as "fail" verse 8
11 When I was a child, I spake as a child, I understood as a child, I thought as
a child: but when I became a man, I put away childish things.

Once you become a Christian, act like an
Christian not a child
-
Thought = reasoned
-
Put away = did away with, as in verse 8 and 10
-
Childish things = the things of a child
12 For now we see through a glass, darkly; but then face to face: now I know in
part; but then shall I know even as also I am known.

Glass = mirror
-
Darkly = riddle = Only here and James 1:23

James 1:23 For if any be a hearer of the word,
and not a doer, he is like unto a man beholding
his natural face in a glass:

Know = fully know
-
Even as = even as I was fully know also
13 And now abideth faith, hope, charity, these three; but the greatest of these
is charity.

Love abides and is supreme
-
Greatest gifts is Love, which comes from our
Father
• Exactly 2520 years from the exile
of Benjamin, Iceland became an independent nation.

The first tribe to be
conquered by the Assyrians was Manasseh,
in 745 B.C. Exactly 2520 years later America became a nation on July 4, 1776.
(Leviticus. 26: 28-46) God warned Israel that if they persisted in continually
breaking His Laws, not only would curses come upon them.
He would punish them for seven times, (a time being 360 years, seven times would
be 2520 years) and would banish them from the land of Palestine and scatter them
among the heathens (like lost sheep)
