1 Timothy 2                                                                                                   1 Timothy 2    1 Timothy 2    1 Timothy 2

1 Timothy 2:1 I exhort therefore, that, first of all, supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks, be made for all men;

2 For kings, and for all that are in authority; that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and honesty.
  • We should try to get along with everyone if possible.
  • We know their will be people that work for Satan and you can't get along with.
  • Because they're always starting trouble.
  • Titus 3:3 For we ourselves also were sometimes foolish, disobedient, deceived, serving divers lusts and pleasures, living in malice and envy, hateful, and hating one another.
    4 But after that the kindness and love of God our Saviour toward man appeared,
    5 Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Ghost;
    6 Which he shed on us abundantly through Jesus Christ our Saviour;
    7 That being justified by his grace, we should be made heirs according to the hope of eternal life.
3 For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Saviour;
  • 1 Timothy 1:1 Paul, an apostle of Jesus Christ by the commandment of God our Saviour, and Lord Jesus Christ, which is our hope.
4 Who will have all men to be saved, and to come unto the knowledge of the truth.
  • 2 Peter 3:8 But, beloved, be not ignorant of this one thing, that one day is with the Lord as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day.
  • What is the day of the Lord?
  • It's the millennium
  • 1000 years =  Millennium
  • Revelation 20 = the Millennium
  • More on the Millennium = The last eight chapters of Ezekiel
  • 9 The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.
  • God loves His children, He hopes none will perish
  • But that all should come to repentance
  • We all come short and need repentance
  • When you do something wrong, ask God to forgive you
  • 10 But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night; in the which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat, the earth also and the works that are therein shall be burned up.
5 For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus;
  • When you hear, we support all religions you know they are not of God teaching
  • They are false pastors = first seal = don't be deceived
6 Who gave himself a ransom for all, to be testified in due time.
  • Matthew 20:28 Even as the Son of man came not to be ministered unto, but to minister, and to give his life a ransom for many.
  • Gal 1:3 Grace be to you and peace from God the Father, and from our Lord Jesus Christ,
    4 Who gave himself for our sins, that he might deliver us from this present evil world, according to the will of God and our Father:
    5 To whom be glory for ever and ever. Amen.
7 Where unto I am ordained a preacher, and an apostle, (I speak the truth in Christ, and lie not;) a teacher of the Gentiles in faith and verity.

8 I will therefore that men pray every where, lifting up holy hands, without wrath and doubting.

9 In like manner also, that women adorn themselves in modest apparel, with shamefacedness and sobriety; not with broided hair, or gold, or pearls, or costly array;

10 But (which becometh women professing godliness) with good works.
  • Good works are more important
  • If your serving God always care about you're looks
11 Let the woman learn in silence with all subjection.
  • Silence = chatter
  • When you're being taught the word of God, everyone should be silence.
  • Men and women
  • Acts 2:16 But this is that which was spoken by the prophet Joel;
    17 And it shall come to pass in the last days, saith God, I will pour out of my Spirit upon all flesh: and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, and your young men shall see visions, and your old men shall dream dreams:
  • 1 Corinthians 11:11 Nevertheless neither is the man without the woman, neither the woman without the man, in the Lord.
    12 For as the woman is of the man, even so is the man also by the woman; but all things of God.
    13 Judge in yourselves: is it comely that a woman pray unto God uncovered?
    14 Doth not even nature itself teach you, that, if a man have long hair, it is a shame unto him?
    15 But if a woman have long hair, it is a glory to her: for her hair is given her for a covering.
  • If a woman have long hair, it is a glory to her: for her hair is given her for a covering.
  • 16 But if any man seem to be contentious, we have no such custom, neither the churches of God.

  • Even all = one and the same with a shaven (one). If she discards the covering which is the symbol of her position, she may as well discard that which nature has given.
  • Acts 21:24 Them take, and purify thyself with them, and be at charges with them, that they may shave their heads: and all may know that those things, whereof they were informed concerning thee, are nothing; but that thou thyself also walkest orderly, and keepest the law.
  • Acts 2:17 And it shall come to pass in the last days, saith God, I will pour out of my Spirit upon all flesh: and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, and your young men shall see visions, and your old men shall dream dreams:
  • 6 For if the woman be not covered, let her also be shorn: but if it be a shame for a woman to be shorn or shaven, let her be covered.
  • Shorn = Acts 8:32 The place of the scripture which he read was this, He was led as a sheep to the slaughter; and like a lamb dumb before his shearer, so opened he not his mouth:
  • 7 For a man indeed ought not to cover his head, forasmuch as he is the image and glory of God: but the woman is the glory of the man.
    8 For the man is not of the woman; but the woman of the man.
    9 Neither was the man created for the woman; but the woman for the man.
  • 10 For this cause ought the woman to have power on her head because of the angels.
  • Why keep your head covered?
  • Because of the fallen angels
  • 5th trumpet = Revelation 9 Fallen angels
  • Why did God cause the flood in Noah time?
  • Because of the fallen angels
  • Matthew 24:37 But as the days of Noah were, so shall also the coming of the Son of man be.

    7 Even as Sodom and Gomorrha, and the cities about them in like manner, giving themselves over to fornication, and going after strange flesh, are set forth for an example, suffering the vengeance of eternal fire.
  • Who were they marrying? The fallen angels - they were not born of woman

14 And Adam was not deceived, but the woman being deceived was in the transgression.

    39 The enemy that sowed them is the devil; the harvest is the end of the world; and the reapers are the angels.
    40 As therefore the tares are gathered and burned in the fire; so shall it be in the end of this world.
  • Genesis 3:6  And when the woman saw that the tree was good for food, and that it was pleasant to the eyes, and a tree to be desired to make one wise, she took of the fruit thereof, and did eat, and gave also unto her husband with her; and he did eat.

    4 And the serpent said unto the woman, Ye shall not surely die:
    5 For God doth know that in the day ye eat thereof, then your eyes shall be opened, and ye shall be as gods, knowing good and evil.

He would punish them for seven times, (a time being 360 years, seven times would be 2520 years) and would banish them from the land of Palestine and scatter them among the heathens (like lost sheep)
