Colossians 4
Colossians 4:1 Masters, give unto your servants that which is
just and equal; knowing that ye also have a Master in heaven.
-
Don't ask someone to do something you wouldn't
do
2 Continue in prayer, and watch in the same with thanksgiving;
3 Withal praying also for us, that God would open unto us a door
of utterance, to speak the mystery of Christ, for which I am
also in bonds:
-
The mystery of Christ = Matthew 13
-
Paul was in jail for teaching the word of God
4 That I may make it manifest, as I ought to speak.
5 Walk in wisdom toward them that are without, redeeming the
time.
-
Use wisdom in teaching God's Word, know when to
teach God's Word
6 Let your speech be always with grace, seasoned with salt, that
ye may know how ye ought to answer every man.
-
Seasoned with salt = know what level to teach
-
1 Peter 2:2 As newborn babes, desire the sincere
milk of the word, that ye may
grow thereby:
3 If so be ye have tasted that the Lord is gracious.
4 To whom coming, as unto a living stone, disallowed indeed of men, but
chosen of God, and precious,
5 Ye also, as lively stones, are built up a spiritual house, an holy
priesthood, to offer up spiritual sacrifices, acceptable to God by Jesus
Christ.
6 Wherefore also it is contained in the scripture, Behold, I lay in Sion
a chief corner stone, elect, precious: and he that believeth on him
shall not be confounded.
7 All my state shall Tychicus declare unto you, who is a beloved
brother, and a faithful minister and fellow servant in the Lord:
8 Whom I have sent unto you for the same purpose, that he might
know your estate, and comfort your hearts;
9 With Onesimus, a faithful and beloved brother, who is one of
you. They shall make known unto you all things which are done
here.
10 Aristarchus my fellow prisoner saluteth you, and Marcus,
sister's son to Barnabas, (touching whom ye received
commandments: if he come unto you, receive him;)
11 And Jesus, which is called Justus, who are of the
circumcision. These only are my fellow workers unto the kingdom
of God, which have been a comfort unto me.
12 Epaphras, who is one of you, a servant of Christ, saluteth
you, always labouring fervently for you in prayers, that ye may
stand perfect and complete in all the will of God.
-
Prayers = Always Ask In God Will

them that are in Laodicea, and them in Hierapolis.

-
Luke was an doctor

15 Salute the brethren which are in Laodicea, and Nymphas, and
the church which is in his house.
-

called-out ones.
-

-
Christ being the head of the Temple
-
Colossian 1:18 And he is the head of the
body, the church: who is the beginning,
the firstborn from the dead; that in all things
he might have the preeminence.
-
Eph 5:23 For the husband is the head of
the wife, even as Christ is the head of the
church: and he is the saviour of the
body.
24 Therefore as the church is subject unto
Christ, so let the wives be to their own
husbands in every thing.
25 Husbands, love your wives, even as
Christ also loved the church, and gave
himself for it;
-
Revelation 21:22 And I saw no temple therein: for the Lord God Almighty
and the Lamb are the temple of it.
-
John 2:19 Jesus answered and said unto them, Destroy this temple, and in
three days I will raise it up.
20 Then said the Jews, Forty and six years was this temple in building,
and wilt thou rear it up in three days?
21 But he spake of the temple of his body.
-
Ephesians 2:20 And are built upon the foundation of the apostles and
prophets, Jesus Christ himself being the chief corner stone;
-
Colossians 1:24 Who now rejoice in my sufferings for you, and fill up that
which is behind of the afflictions of Christ in my flesh for his
body's sake, which is the church:
-
Ephesians 1:22 And hath put all things under his feet, and gave him to be the head
over all things to the church, (23) Which is his body, the fulness of him that filleth all in all.
-
Ephesians 5:28 So ought men to love their wives as their own bodies.
He
that loveth his wife loveth himself.
29 For no man ever yet hated his own flesh; but nourisheth and
cherisheth it, even as the Lord the church:
-
Lord the church
30 For we are members of his body, of his flesh, and of
his bones.
Acts 7:37 This is that Moses,
which said unto the children of Israel,
A prophet shall the Lord your
God raise up unto you of your brethren, like
unto me; him shall ye hear.
38 This is he, that was in the church in the
wilderness with the angel which spake to him in
the mount Sina, and with our fathers: who
received the lively oracles to give unto us:
39 To whom our fathers would not obey, but
thrust him from them, and in
their hearts turned back again into Egypt,
Matthew 16:18 And I say also unto thee,
That thou art Peter, and upon this rock
I will build my church; and the gates
of hell shall not prevail against it.
19 And I will give unto thee the keys of
the kingdom of heaven: and whatsoever
thou shalt bind on earth shall be bound in
heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt loose on earth
shall be loosed in heaven.
Acts 5:11 And great fear came upon all the
church, and upon as many as heard these things.
12 And by the hands of the apostles were many
signs and wonders wrought among the people; (and
they were all with one accord in Solomon's
porch.
16 And when this epistle is read among you, cause that it be
read also in the church of the Laodiceans; and that ye likewise
read the epistle from Laodicea.
17 And say to Archippus, Take heed to the ministry which thou
hast received in the Lord, that thou fulfil it.
18 The salutation by the hand of me Paul. Remember my bonds.
Grace be with you. Amen.

breaking His Laws, not only would curses come upon them.
He would punish them for seven times, (a time being 360 years, seven times would
