Isaiah 62
Book of Isaiah
Isaiah 62:1 For Zion's sake will I not
hold my peace, and for Jerusalem's sake I will not rest, until the
righteousness thereof go forth as brightness, and the salvation thereof
as a lamp that burneth.
-
For Zion's sake = Not fulfilled,
therefore, in the Gospel dispensation; for Zion
is still trodden down of the Gentiles.
-
Luke 21:24 And they shall fall by the
edge of the sword, and shall be led away captive into all
nations: and Jerusalem shall be trodden down of the Gentiles,
until the times of the Gentiles be fulfilled.
-
The Gentiles be fulfilled = the time of temple =
Watch the Dome of the Rock
-
The rock over which it is built is believed to be
Mount Moriah where Abraham prepared to sacrifice his only son Isaac.
(Genesis 22)
-
Here we have Messiah's intercession for Israel.
2 And the Gentiles shall see thy righteousness, and all kings thy glory:
and thou shalt be called by a new name, which the mouth of the Lord
shall name.
-
Gentiles =
nations
-
Called by a new name: As Abraham was and Jacob
-
Genesis 17:5 Neither shall thy name any more be
called Abram, but thy name
shall be Abraham; for a father
of many nations have I made thee.
-
Genesis 32:28 And he said, Thy name shall be
called no more Jacob, but Israel:
for as a prince hast thou power with God and
with men, and hast prevailed.
-
Name = Expressly name or specify
-
God's Very Elect = Revelation 2:17 He that hath
an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches; To
him that overcometh will I give to eat of the hidden manna, and
will give him a white stone, and in the stone a new name
written, which no man knoweth saving he that receiveth it.
-
This is the ''white stone'' which is the hidden manna, or hidden
truth that only the elect can learn.
-
Another name for Satan is
Tyrus, which means rock or stone, and is the Hebrew word #6865.
(Ezekiel 28)
-
Both stone and count comes from
the primary word #5584, which means "to verify by contact" or "to
search for".
-
Revelation 3:11
Behold, I come quickly:
hold that fast which thou hast, that no man take
thy crown.
3 Thou shalt also be a crown of glory in the hand of the Lord, and a
royal diadem in the hand of thy God.
-
Crown = bridal crown
-
Isaiah 28:5 In that day shall the LORD of hosts
be for a crown of glory, and for a diadem of
beauty, unto the residue of his people.
4 Thou shalt no more be termed Forsaken; neither shall thy land any more
be termed Desolate: but thou shalt be called Hephzi-bah, and thy land
Beulah: for the Lord delighteth in thee, and thy land shall be married.
-
Forsaken = Desolate
-
Hephzi-bah = which synchronized
with this prophecy
-
2 Kings 21:1 Manasseh was twelve
years old when he began to reign, and reigned
fifty and five years in Jerusalem. And his
mother's name was Hephzi-bah.
5 For as a young man marrieth a virgin, so shall thy sons marry thee:
and as the bridegroom rejoiceth over the bride, so shall thy God rejoice
over thee.
-
Marry = own or possess
-
To become an owner or husband of a wife
6 I have set watchmen upon thy walls, O Jerusalem, which shall never
hold their peace day nor night: ye that make mention of the Lord, keep
not silence,
7 And give him no rest, till he establish, and till he make Jerusalem a
praise in the earth.
8 The Lord hath sworn by his right hand, and by the arm of his strength,
Surely I will no more give thy corn to be meat for thine enemies; and
the sons of the stranger shall not drink thy wine, for the which thou
hast laboured:
-
Stranger =
foreigner
-
Deuteronomy 28:30 Thou shalt betroth
a wife, and another man shall lie with her: thou
shalt build an house, and thou shalt not dwell
therein: thou shalt plant a vineyard, and shalt
not gather the grapes thereof.
31 Thine ox shall be slain before thine eyes,
and thou shalt not eat thereof: thine ass shall
be violently taken away from before thy face,
and shall not be restored to thee: thy sheep
shall be given unto thine enemies, and thou
shalt have none to rescue them.
9 But they that have gathered it shall eat it, and praise the Lord; and
they that have brought it together shall drink it in the courts of my
holiness.
10 Go through, go through the gates; prepare ye the way of the people;
cast up, cast up the highway; gather out the stones; lift up a standard
for the people.
-
The people = the way is to be "prepared"
for Messiah: here for His People
-
Isaiah 40:3 The voice of
him that crieth in the wilderness, Prepare ye
the way of the Lord, make straight in the desert
a highway for our God.
11 Behold, the Lord hath proclaimed unto the end of the world, Say ye to
the daughter of Zion, Behold, thy salvation cometh; behold, his reward
is with him, and his work before him.
12 And they shall call them, The holy people, The redeemed of the Lord:
and thou shalt be called, Sought out, A city not forsaken.
