Jude 1

Jude 1

Jude 1:1 Jude, the servant of Jesus Christ, and brother of James, to them that are sanctified by God the Father, and preserved in Jesus Christ, and called:
  • This book was written by "Judas, a servant of Jesus Christ, and brother of James".
  • This is how he describes himself, and we know nothing more of him, save that in Matthew 13:55 and Mark 6:3 "Judas" is mentioned as one of the Lord's brethren.
  •  A very early tradition assigns the authorship to Jude.
  • The James to whom he was brother was doubtless the writer of the Epistle of James, the pillar of the church at Jerusalem.)
  • Matthew 13:55  Is not this the carpenter's son? is not his mother called Mary? and his brethren, James, and Joses, and Simon, and Judas?
2 Mercy unto you, and peace, and love, be multiplied.

3 Beloved, when I gave all diligence to write unto you of the common salvation, it was needful for me to write unto you, and exhort you that ye should earnestly contend for the faith which was once delivered unto the saints.

4 For there are certain men crept in unawares, who were before of old ordained to this condemnation, ungodly men, turning the grace of our God into lasciviousness, and denying the only Lord God, and our Lord Jesus Christ.
  • He talking about the fallen angels from Genesis 6 the reason for the flood of Noah
5 I will therefore put you in remembrance, though ye once knew this, how that the Lord, having saved the people out of the land of Egypt, afterward destroyed them that believed not.
  • Here he goes back to the 40 year generation in the wilderness
  • The Lord saved them, afterward destroyed them that believed not
6 And the angels which kept not their first estate, but left their own habitation, he hath reserved in everlasting chains under darkness unto the judgment of the great day.
  • These fallen angels will be destroyed at the 7th vial, God's wrath
  • This was why Noah Flood happened
  • Ephesians 6:12 For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.
7 Even as Sodom and Gomorrha, and the cities about them in like manner, giving themselves over to fornication, and going after strange flesh, are set forth for an example, suffering the vengeance of eternal fire.
  • After strange flesh = man after man
  • Romans 1:26 For this cause God gave them up unto vile affections: for even their women did change the natural use into that which is against nature:
  • Romans 1:27 And likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust one toward another; men with men working that which is unseemly, and receiving in themselves that recompence of their error which was meet.
  • Manner  Add "to these",  the angels of Jude 6.
  • The sin of Sodom and Gomorrha, like that of the angels of Genesis 6, was an unnatural one, breaking through the bounds which God had set.
8 Likewise also these filthy dreamers defile the flesh, despise dominion, and speak evil of dignities.
  • Despise dominion means against God Plan
9 Yet Michael the archangel, when contending with the devil he disputed about the body of Moses, durst not bring against him a railing accusation, but said, The Lord rebuke thee.
  • The devil he disputed about the body of Moses
  • Moses was the law giver and Satan's against the law and his seed the Kenites
10 But these speak evil of those things which they know not: but what they know naturally, as brute beasts, in those things they corrupt themselves.
  • You not only have your natural instinct of the flesh, but also your divine nature.
  • You have this brute nature that is of the heavens through the fallen angels, which simplified is satanic nature.
  • In the end time, they are going to be performing miracles that would deceive even the elect, if they were not very careful.
  • If you are going to study your Fatherís Word so that you are not deceived, it does not matter when they come.
  • You are ready. Know your own nature. Know divine nature and also know that satanic nature.
  • It is allowed both on earth and in the heavens and it will grow stronger in the end times.
11 Woe unto them! for they have gone in the way of Cain, and ran greedily after the error of Balaam for reward, and perished in the gainsaying of Core.
  • Cain killed his brother Abel
  • Cain was of Satan's seed
  • John 8:44 Ye are of your father the devil, and the lusts of your father ye will do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and abode not in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaketh a lie, he speaketh of his own: for he is a liar, and the father of it.
45 And because I tell you the truth, ye believe me not.
  • Genesis 3:15 And I will put enmity between thee and the woman, and between thy seed and her seed; it shall bruise thy head, and thou shalt bruise his heel.
  • Cain, His way was that of natural religion, not the way God had appointed.
  • Ran greedily = rushed. Literally were poured out. Often translated "shed".
  • Core = Korah, as the two others, resisted the declared will of God.
  • After the error of Balaam means they're me people, they only think about their ways
  • How did Satan deceive Eve? With lies
  • 2 Corinthians 11:3 But I fear, lest by any means, as the serpent beguiled Eve through his subtilty, so your minds should be corrupted from the simplicity that is in Christ.
4 For if he that cometh preacheth another Jesus, whom we have not preached, or if ye receive another spirit, which ye have not received, or another gospel, which ye have not accepted, ye might well bear with him.
  • The serpent wholly seduce her by deceiving her, through his trickery or sophistry.
  • Beguiled: to seduce wholly
  • Subtilty:  craftiness, trickery or sophistry
  • Genesis 4:15 And the LORD said unto him, Therefore whosoever slayeth Cain, vengeance shall be taken on him sevenfold. And the LORD set a mark upon Cain, lest any finding him should kill him.
  • God set a mark on Satan and his seed from the beginning were you would not be deceived.
  • This mark is how you believe, your actions, your works
  • Genesis 3:2 And the woman said unto the serpent, We may eat of the fruit of the trees of the garden:
3 But of the fruit of the tree which is in the midst of the garden, God hath said, Ye shall not eat of it, neither shall ye touch it, lest ye die.
4 And the serpent said unto the woman, Ye shall not surely die:
5 For God doth know that in the day ye eat thereof, then your eyes shall be opened, and ye shall be as gods, knowing good and evil.
  • What did Satan do to Eve? Satan deceived her through lies. What does Satan and his seed do today? They lie, they bring in Babylon, confusion. Have you listen to most of the lying media?
  • Serpent is another name of Satan = Revelation 12:9 And the great dragon was cast out, that old serpent, called the Devil, and Satan, which deceiveth the whole world: he was cast out into the earth, and his angels were cast out with him.
  • The Seal of God in your forehead The truth of God's word in your forehead vs the mark of the beast (Satan brings in false deception) in your forehead the deception of false teaching and the tradition of man in your forehead.
12 These are spots in your feasts of charity, when they feast with you, feeding themselves without fear: clouds they are without water, carried about of winds; trees whose fruit withereth, without fruit, twice dead, plucked up by the roots;
  • Twice dead =  first dead is of the flesh and some will have second dead of their soul the wicked
  • Revelation 20:14  And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death.
  • Revelation 20:15  And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire.
  • 2 Corinthians 5:5-10  We are confident, I say, and willing rather to be absent from the body, and to be present with the Lord. Wherefore we labour, that, whether present or absent, we may be accepted of him. For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ; that every one may receive the things done in his body, according to that he hath done, whether it be good or bad.
13 Raging waves of the sea, foaming out their own shame; wandering stars, to whom is reserved the blackness of darkness for ever.
  • God has already judged these 7,000 to death, from Genesis 6 the fallen angles
14 And Enoch also, the seventh from Adam, prophesied of these, saying, Behold, the Lord cometh with ten thousands of his saints,
  • Enoch was an Pastor teaching against the fallen angels
15 To execute judgment upon all, and to convince all that are ungodly among them of all their ungodly deeds which they have ungodly committed, and of all their hard speeches which ungodly sinners have spoken against him.

16 These are murmurers, complainers, walking after their own lusts; and their mouth speaketh great swelling words, having men's persons in admiration because of advantage.

17 But, beloved, remember ye the words which were spoken before of the apostles of our Lord Jesus Christ;

18 How that they told you there should be mockers in the last time, who should walk after their own ungodly lusts.

19 These be they who separate themselves, sensual, having not the Spirit.

20 But ye, beloved, building up yourselves on your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Spirit,

21 Keep yourselves in the love of God, looking for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ unto eternal life.

22 And of some have compassion, making a difference:
  • God's very elect wants to help others, they are not for themself
23 And others save with fear, pulling them out of the fire; hating even the garment spotted by the flesh.

24 Now unto him that is able to keep you from falling, and to present you faultless before the presence of his glory with exceeding joy,
  • Keep = guard
  • From falling = without falling, stumble
  • Present = set, or make stand
  • Faultless = blameless

  • Glory = exceeding joy = exultation
25 To the only wise God our Saviour, be glory and majesty, dominion and power, both now and ever. Amen.
