Psalms 63
Book of Psalms
A Psalm of David, when he was in the wilderness of Judah.
Psalms 63:1 O God, thou art my God; early will I seek thee: my soul thirsteth
for thee, my flesh longeth for thee in a dry and thirsty land, where no water
is;
-
Longeth = fainteth. Occurs nowhere else.
-
In = "like".
-
Thirsty = weary
2 To see thy power and thy glory, so as I have seen thee in the sanctuary.
3 Because thy loving kindness is better than life, my lips shall praise thee.
-
Loving kindness = grace
-
Praise = commend, or extol = used only by David
and Solomon.
4 Thus will I bless thee while I live: I will lift up my hands in thy name.
5 My soul shall be satisfied as with marrow and fatness; and my mouth shall
praise thee with joyful lips:
6 When I remember thee upon my bed, and meditate on thee in the night watches.
-
And = I will meditate
-
Rejoice = or, rest
7 Because thou hast been my help, therefore in the shadow of thy wings will I
rejoice.
8 My soul followeth hard after thee: thy right hand upholdeth me.
-
Followeth = cleaveth to and followeth.
-
Hard = close
9 But those that seek my soul, to destroy it, shall go into the lower parts of
the earth.
-
Those that seek my soul, to destroy it, shall go
hell
-
To destroy it = As Ahithophel did
-
2 Sam 17:1 Moreover Ahithophel said unto
Absalom, Let me now choose out twelve thousand
men, and I will arise and pursue after David
this night:
2 And I will come upon him while he is weary and
weak handed, and will make him afraid: and all
the people that are with him shall flee; and I
will smite the king only:
3 And I will bring back all the people unto
thee: the man whom thou seekest is as if all
returned: so all the people shall be in peace.
10 They shall fall by the sword: they shall be a portion for foxes.
-
Foxes = Jackals = Kenites
11 But the king shall rejoice in God; every one that sweareth by him shall
glory: but the mouth of them that speak lies shall be stopped.
• Exactly 2520 years from the exile
of Benjamin, Iceland became an independent nation.
•
The first tribe to be
conquered by the Assyrians was Manasseh,
in 745 B.C. Exactly 2520 years later America became a nation on July 4, 1776.
(Leviticus. 26: 28-46) God warned Israel that if they persisted in continually
breaking His Laws, not only would curses come upon them.
He would punish them for seven times, (a time being 360 years, seven times would
be 2520 years) and would banish them from the land of Palestine and scatter them
among the heathens (like lost sheep)
