1 Kings 19
Book of Kings
The ten tribes had left Israel at the time, and having left the old temple, they had all turned to idolatry. Just as today.
They're believing the Kenites people are the
true sons of Israel, and we could say much the
same thing Elijah said; but Elijah forgot the
divine promise to the seed.
1 Kings 19:1 And Ahab told Jezebel all that Elijah had done, and
withal how he had slain all the prophets with the sword.
-
You have to ask, who is King?
2 Then Jezebel sent a messenger unto Elijah, saying, So let the
gods do to me, and more also, if I make not thy life as the life
of one of them by to morrow about this time.
3 And when he saw that, he arose, and went for his life, and
came to Beer-sheba, which belongeth to Judah, and left his
servant there.
-
Elijah didn't asked God, he just went to Judah
-
God told him to go to Jerusalem
-
He didn't asked God what to do, when Jezebel came at him
-
This is the time we need to ask God what to do.
4 But he himself went a day's journey into the wilderness, and
came and sat down under a juniper tree: and he requested for
himself that he might die; and said, It is enough; now, O LORD,
take away my life; for I am not better than my fathers.
-
Elijah requested for himself that he might die
-
Elijah, being weak now he is not doing as God told him to do.
-
I can see why Elijah wanted to give us on Israel, watch the news.
5 And as he lay and slept under a juniper tree, behold, then an
angel touched him, and said unto him, Arise and eat.
-
An angel touched him and said, arise and eat
-
I have commanded. Elijah miraculously fed three
times:
-
(1) by ravens (1 Kings 17:6)
-
(2) by a widow (1 Kings 17:9)
-
(3) by an angel (1 Kings 19:5,6)
6 And he looked, and, behold, there was a cake baken on the
coals, and a cruse of water at his head. And he did eat and
drink, and laid him down again.
-
Cake baken, and water, Elijah did eat and laid
down again
-
Elijah was fed three times, by an angel
7 And the angel of the LORD came again the second time, and
touched him, and said, Arise and eat; because the journey is too
great for thee.
-
The angel the second time told Elijah to eat
8 And he arose, and did eat and drink, and went in the strength
of that meat forty days and forty nights unto Horeb the mount of
God.
-
Forty days and forty nights unto Horeb the mount
of God.
-
Forth = probation
-
Horeb = about 180 miles
9 And he came thither unto a cave, and lodged there; and,
behold, the word of the LORD came to him, and he said unto him,
What doest thou here, Elijah?
-
The Lord talking to Elijah, What doest thou
here, Elijah?
10 And he said, I have been very jealous for the LORD God of
hosts: for the children of Israel have forsaken thy covenant,
thrown down thine altars, and slain thy prophets with the sword;
and I, even I only, am left; and they seek my life, to take it
away.
-
The children of Israel have forsaken thy
covenant
-
Thrown down thine altars
-
Slain thy prophets with the sword
-
I, even I only, am left; and they seek my life,
to take it away
-
There's 7,000 of God's very elect

Romans 11:4 But what saith the answer of
God unto him? I have reserved to myself
seven thousand men, who have not bowed the knee
to the image of Baal.
11 And he said, Go forth, and stand upon the mount before the
LORD. And, behold, the LORD passed by, and a great and strong
wind rent the mountains, and brake in pieces the rocks before
the LORD; but the LORD was not in the wind: and after the wind
an earthquake; but the LORD was not in the earthquake:
12 And after the earthquake a fire; but the LORD was not in the
fire: and after the fire a still small voice.
13 And it was so, when Elijah heard it, that he wrapped his face
in his mantle, and went out, and stood in the entering in of the
cave. And, behold, there came a voice unto him, and said, What
doest thou here, Elijah?

Wrapped = As Moss at the bush
-
Verse 12 The LORD = a voice unto him, and
said, What doest thou here, Elijah?
14 And he said, I have been very jealous for the LORD God of
hosts: because the children of Israel have forsaken thy
covenant, thrown down thine altars, and slain thy prophets with
the sword; and I, even I only, am left; and they seek my life,
to take it away.
15 And the LORD said unto him, Go, return on thy way
to the
wilderness of Damascus: and when thou comest, anoint Hazael to
be king over Syria:
-
The Lord told Elijah go the way I told you to go.
16 And Jehu the son of Nimshi shalt thou anoint to be king over
Israel: and Elisha the son of Shaphat of Abel-meholah shalt thou
anoint to be prophet in thy room.
-
Jehu the son of Nimshi shalt thou anoint to be
king over Israel
-
Elisha the son of Shaphat of Abel-meholah shalt
thou anoint to be prophet in thy room

2 Kings 9:2 And when thou comest thither, look
out there Jehu the son of Jehoshaphat the son of
Nimshi, and go in, and make him arise up from
among his brethren, and carry him to an inner
chamber;
17 And it shall come to pass, that him that escapeth the sword
of Hazael shall Jehu slay: and him that escapeth from the sword
of Jehu shall Elisha slay.
18 Yet I have left me seven thousand in Israel,
all the knees
which have not bowed unto Baal, and every mouth which hath not
kissed him.
-
Kissed = worshipping
-
Seven thousand, which have not bowed unto Baal
= unto Satan
-
These are God's elect that will stand for God in
the last days, they will be deliver up, why?
-
God will speak through them, bringing the true
word of God to All nations and people, then the
end will come.
-
Matthew 24:14 And this gospel of the
kingdom shall be preached in all the world for a witness unto
all nations; and then shall the end come.
-
Romans 11:4 But what saith the answer of
God unto him? I have reserved to myself
seven thousand men, who have not bowed the knee
to the image of Baal.
19 So he departed thence, and found Elisha the son of Shaphat,
who was plowing with twelve yoke of oxen before him, and he with
the twelfth: and Elijah passed by him, and cast his mantle upon
him.
-
Twelve yoke of oxen = pair would be 24
20 And he left the oxen, and ran after Elijah, and said, Let me,
I pray thee, kiss my father and my mother, and then I will
follow thee. And he said unto him, Go back again: for what have
I done to thee?
21 And he returned back from him, and took a yoke of oxen, and
slew them, and boiled their flesh with the instruments of the
oxen, and gave unto the people, and they did eat. Then he arose,
and went after Elijah, and ministered unto him.

God has
told us many times, do not
believe what any man may teach you unless you first check them
out directly from God's Word which is unchangeable.
(Leviticus. 26: 28-46) God warned Israel that if they persisted in continually
breaking His Laws, not only would curses come upon them.
He would punish them for seven times, (a time being 360 years, seven times would
be 2520 years) and would banish them from the land of Palestine and scatter them
among the heathens (like lost sheep)
• Exactly 2520 years from the exile
of Benjamin, Iceland became an independent nation.
•
The first tribe to be
conquered by the Assyrians was Manasseh,
in 745 B.C. Exactly 2520 years later America became a nation on July 4, 1776.
