Daniel 6
Daniel himself in the den of lions.
Daniel 6:1 It pleased Darius to set over the
kingdom an hundred and twenty princes, which should be over the whole
kingdom;
-
Bible scholars agree that Darius was actually
Ahasuerus, the same king that is spoken of in
the book of Esther.
2 And over these three presidents; of whom Daniel was first: that the
princes might give accounts unto them, and the king should have no
damage.
-
Darius defeated and had Belshazzar slain in the
preceding chapter, and inasmuch as we find
Daniel in top authority here, it is obvious
Darius knew Daniel.
-
Presidents = ministers
3 Then this Daniel was preferred above the presidents and princes,
because an excellent spirit was in him; and the king thought to set him
over the whole realm.
-
The king showing that Daniel was well know and
appreciated, an excellent spirit, he held
Daniel after many years of faithful services.
4 Then the presidents and princes sought to find occasion against Daniel
concerning the kingdom; but they could find none occasion nor fault;
forasmuch as he was faithful, neither was there any error or fault found
in him.
-
Daniel kept himself spotless as far as any civil
law was concerned.
-
As must you also do, whereby they cannot deliver
you up except for a religious reason.
-
That being, you will not bow a knee to the false
christ, no matter what political system requires
it.
-
I would like to remember that Shadrach, Meshach
and Abednego were throw into the fiery furnace
for refusing to worship the image which was
symbolic of the political system.
-
Daniel will soon be put on trial here for the
same thing, and in a sense, you can see yourself
in this, as before long you will be singled out
and delivered up as a witness for refusing to
worship a false god.
5 Then said these men, We shall not find any occasion against this
Daniel, except we find it against him concerning the law of his God.
6 Then these presidents and princes assembled together to the king, and
said thus unto him, King Darius, live for ever.
7 All the presidents of the kingdom, the governors, and the princes, the
counsellors, and the captains, have consulted together to establish a
royal statute, and to make a firm decree, that whosoever shall ask a
petition of any God or man for thirty days, save of thee, O king, he
shall be cast into the den of lions.
-
Do you see the flattery here?
-
Governors = deputies
-
Ask a petition = pray a prayer
8 Now, O king, establish the decree, and sign the writing, that it be
not changed, according to the law of the Medes and Persians, which
altereth not.
9 Wherefore king Darius signed the writing and the decree.
10 Now when Daniel knew that the writing was signed, he went into his
house; and his windows being open in his chamber toward Jerusalem, he
kneeled upon his knees three times a day, and prayed, and gave thanks
before his God, as he did aforetime.
-
They had tricked the king, and Daniel knew it.
-
There are several things to notice in passing
here.
-
First, it is obvious that Daniel was in the
habit of prayer.
-
Second he prayed toward Jerusalem.
-
As long as Israelites were in captivity or away
from Jerusalem, where the temple was, Solomon
had ordered they were to pray toward it.
-
1 Kings 8:48 And so return unto thee with all their heart,
and with all their soul, in the land of their
enemies, which led them away captive, and pray
unto thee toward their land, which thou gavest
unto their fathers, the city which thou hast
chosen, and the house which I have built for thy
name:
11 Then these men assembled, and found Daniel praying and making
supplication before his God.
-
The Chaldean words indicate in verse 10, the
chamber in which he was praying was an upper
chamber.
-
Inasmuch then as these people could not see him
from the street, you see they actively sought
him in his house and assembled there.
-
Mark 13, You will find yourself in much the same
position when you refuse to worship the false
christ; yet this is the day we wait for, the day
we desire and pray for, to be a witness for the
Father.
12 Then they came near, and spake before the king concerning the king's
decree; Hast thou not signed a decree, that every man that shall ask a
petition of any God or man within thirty days, save of thee, O king,
shall be cast into the den of lions? The king answered and said, The
thing is true, according to the law of the Medes and Persians, which altereth not.
-
King Darius was an Adamic man, but he was not an
Israelite. See Appendix III. in the Companion
Bible
-
Revelation 8, When Satan is cast out of heaven,
he is going to appear to be Christ and is not,
the same as an Adamic man appears to be an
Israelite and is not necessarily.
-
Why were Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego, the
true Israelites, in the fiery furnace in chapter
3?
-
They refused to bow to their gods, In the last
days, Revelation 13, the second beast (Satan the
false christ), God's elect will refuse to
worship Satan (false christ).
-
Now we find Daniel is about to be put in the
lion's den for refusing to worship their gods.
-
In the last days, Revelation 13, first beast (political
system, will be one world order when Satan appears) and the second
beast (Satan the false christ)
-
This experience of Daniel's was specifically to
give you faith and to strength your faith.
-
You are foretold what will happen to you to give
you courage when you stand up against the false
christ to witness for God.
-
You will be protected as Daniel was.
-
Revelation 9:4 And it
was commanded them that they should not hurt the grass of the
earth, neither any green thing, neither any tree; but only those
men which have not the seal of God in their foreheads.
-
Luke 21:17 And ye shall be hated of all men for
my name's sake.
18 But there shall not an hair of your head
perish.
19 In your patience possess ye your souls.
20 And when ye shall see Jerusalem compassed
with armies, then know that the desolation
thereof is nigh.
21 Then let them which are in Judaea flee to the
mountains; and let them which are in the midst
of it depart out; and let not them that are in
the countries enter there into.
22 For these be the days of vengeance, that all
things which are written may be fulfilled.
13 Then answered they and said before the king, That Daniel, which is of
the children of the captivity of Judah, regardeth not thee, O king, nor
the decree that thou hast signed, but maketh his petition three times a
day.
-
Notice the word Judah is correctly used here.
-
Petition - prayeth a prayer, three times a
day.
14 Then the king, when he heard these words, was sore displeased with
himself, and set his heart on Daniel to deliver him: and he laboured
till the going down of the sun to deliver him.
-
The king liked Daniel and worried all day,
trying to figure out a way to get Daniel out of
this predicament.
15 Then these men assembled unto the king, and said unto the king, Know,
O king, that the law of the Medes and Persians is, That no decree nor
statute which the king establisheth may be changed.
-
They weren't about to let Darius out of this
commitment.
16 Then the king commanded, and they brought Daniel, and cast him into
the den of lions. Now the king spake and said unto Daniel, Thy God whom
thou servest continually, he will deliver thee.
-
In Chaldean, this could be translated, is it
possible your God could deliver you, but I think
King Darius spoke more affirmatively.
-
Take special notice, Your God will protect you
also when you are delivered up.
17 And a stone was brought and laid upon the mouth of the den; and the
king sealed it with his own signet, and with the signet of his lords;
that the purpose might not be changed concerning Daniel.
-
Darius felt pretty strongly that Daniel's God
would save him, and he wanted no foul play by
his enemies.
-
Mouth = door
18 Then the king went to his palace, and passed the
night fasting: neither were instruments of musick brought before him:
and his sleep went from him.
-
Passed the night fasting, showing the
long-standing affection he had for Daniel.
19 Then the king arose very early in the morning, and went in haste unto
the den of lions.
-
Another evidence of the king's strong feeling
for Daniel.
20 And when he came to the den, he cried with a lamentable voice unto
Daniel: and the king spake and said to Daniel, O Daniel, servant of the
living God, is thy God, whom thou servest continually, able to deliver
thee from the lions?
21 Then said Daniel unto the king, O king, live for ever.
22 My God hath sent his angel, and hath shut the lions' mouths, that
they have not hurt me: forasmuch as before him innocency was found in
me; and also before thee, O king, have I done no hurt.
-
Daniel had the seal of God in his forehead, as
you do also.
-
Revelation 9, tell us where it is speaking of
locusts (men) to be release on the earth, and
they were commanded to
tormented men for a five months period.
-
But remember, they were told they could
tormented only those
men that not having the seal of God in their
forehead.
-
God said, Touch not my elect!
-
Revelation 9:8 referring to the locusts (men),
which says, and they had hair as women, and
their teeth as of lions.
-
In the sense, you will face the lions also, but
He has prepared you and foretold you with His
word the knowledge and the truth of the
end times.
-
Thus there is no individual nor thing upon this
earth that can deceive or frighten you from your
destiny.
-
Matthew 24, Mark 13 and Luke 21, This is your
destiny to stand again, against Satan, and be a
witness for God. God will speak through you, and
the gospel must first be published among all
nations.
23 Then was the king exceeding glad for him, and commanded that they
should take Daniel up out of the den. So Daniel was taken up out of the
den, and no manner of hurt was found upon him, because he believed in
his God.
-
Why was he not hurt?
-
He believe in his God.
-
This is the reason, you shall reign with
Christ in the Millennium.
-
Revelation 20:6 Blessed and holy is he that hath part in
the first resurrection: on such the second death
(Satan) hath no power,
but they shall be priests of God and of Christ, and shall reign
with him a thousand years.
24 And the king commanded, and they brought those men which had accused
Daniel, and they cast them into the den of lions, them, their children,
and their wives; and the lions had the mastery of them, and brake all
their bones in pieces or ever they came at the bottom of the den.
-
Daniel accrues were cast in the den of
lions.
-
Mark 13 and Revelation 9, tell us, After your
family has you deliver up, Satan will cast your
family to the den of lions.
-
Satan will tell you anything, if you worship
him.
-
Revelation 9, tell us where it is speaking of
locusts (men) to be release on the earth, and
they were commanded to
tormented men for a five months period.
-
But remember, they were told they could
tormented only those
men that not having the seal of
God in their forehead.
-
God said, Touch not my elect!
-
Revelation 9:8 referring to the locusts (men),
which says, and they had hair as women, and
their teeth as of lions.
-
Mark 13 tell us your family will have you
deliver up..
-
Mark 13:12 Now the brother shall betray the
brother to death, and the father the son; and children shall
rise up against their parents, and shall cause them to be put to
death.
-
Who is death?
-
1 Corinthians15:26 The
last enemy that shall be destroyed is death.
-
Hebrews
2:14 Forasmuch then as the children are partakers of flesh and
blood, he also himself likewise took part of the same; that through
death he might destroy him that had the power of death, that is, the
devil;
-
Satan is
the prince of this world, his name is death, you will be deliver up
to death
-
Why does your children, father or parent have
you deliver up to devil?
-
Because they think Satan is Christ..they are
deceived - 1st seal don't be deceived
-
They did not study God's word, they think Satan
is Christ
-
They think they are helping you, they want to
save you
-
Remember
Satan comes in Peaceably.. deceive by flatteries
25 Then king Darius wrote unto all people, nations, and languages, that
dwell in all the earth; Peace be multiplied unto you.
-
All people included the ethnos, the Israelites..
everyone.
26 I make a decree, That in every dominion of my kingdom men tremble and
fear before the God of Daniel: for he is the living God, and stedfast
for ever, and his kingdom that which shall not be destroyed, and his
dominion shall be even unto the end.
-
God's Kingdom shall be established on earth at
the beginning of the millennium.
-
Even this Adamic king knew and stated this.
-
The Lord's Day? The beginning of the
millennium.
-
2 Peter 3:8-10 But, beloved, be not ignorant of
this one thing, that one day is with the Lord as
a thousand years, and a thousand years as one
day.
-
1000 years is the Millennium.
-
Revelation 20:6 Blessed and holy is he that hath part in
the first resurrection: on such the second death hath no power,
but they shall be priests of God and of Christ, and shall reign
with him a thousand years.
27 He delivereth and rescueth, and he worketh signs and wonders in
heaven and in earth, who hath delivered Daniel from the power of the
lions.
28 So this Daniel prospered in the reign of Darius, and in the reign of
Cyrus the Persian.
