Revelation 21:1 And I saw a new
heaven and a new earth: for the first heaven and the first earth
were passed away; and there was no more sea.
-
The millennium Temple in Ezekiel 48:35 It was
round about eighteen thousand measures: and the name of the
city from that day shall be, The Lord is there.
-
The word
''new'' in Greek is ''kinnos'', which means ''freshness or renew''.
-
It is
not a completely new operation, but a renewing of the old.
-
The word
rejuvenation would be more fitting.
-
The fact
that there will be no more sea can mean two things.
-
We know
that if all the people who had ever lived were to return, there
would not be adequate living space.
-
However,
if the seas disappeared and we had terra firma around the whole
globe, there would be.
-
The
earth would be watered with a mist that covered the whole earth.
-
It would
be watered each night, evenly, in such a way that we would not have
rain or storms.
-
We could
also interpret this sea to mean that masses of confused people would
be ''no more''.
-
Refers to Isaiah 65, New Heavens and earth
2 And I John
saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down from God out of
heaven, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband.
-
This is
post millennium.
-
Note,
this is not old Jerusalem as we know it now. But the
heavenly Jerusalem. For He brings it with Him.
-
Heaven in Revelation 3:12
Him that overcometh will I make a
pillar in the temple of my God, and he shall go no more out: and
I will write upon him the name of my God, and the name of the
city of my God, which is new Jerusalem, which cometh down out of
heaven from my God: and I will write upon him my new name.
-
Isaiah 54:1 very good reading together with this verse.
-
Isaiah 65
very
good reading together with this verse
-
A bride
adorned for her husband
-
Ezekiel 48:5
And by the border of
Manasseh (USA), from the east side unto the west side, a portion
for Ephraim ( Great Britain).
-
Ezekiel 48:35
It was round
about eighteen thousand measures: and the name of the city
from that day shall be, The LORD is there.
3
And I heard a great voice out of heaven saying, Behold, the
tabernacle of God is with men, and He will dwell with them, and
they shall be His people, and God himself shall be with them,
and be their God.
-
His
people, and God Himself shall be with them, and be their God
-
Tabernacle means ''dwelling place''
-
We see
He is dwelling with men.
-
With Them, for God's promised to dwell among
His People in the Land.
-
For the promise to dwell among His People,
restored Israel, in the millennial Land
-
Here we have the final and glorious
fulfillment of the promise IMMANUEL, God with us.
-
Zech 2:10 Sing and rejoice, O daughter of
Zion: for, lo, I come, and I will dwell in the midst of thee, saith
the Lord.
11 And many nations shall be joined to the Lord in that day, and
shall be My people: and I will dwell in the midst of thee, and thou shalt know that the Lord of hosts hath sent me unto thee.
-
Zech 8:3 Thus saith the Lord; I am returned
unto Zion, and will dwell in the midst of Jerusalem: and Jerusalem
shall be called a city of truth; and the mountain of the Lord of
hosts the holy mountain.
4 Thus saith the Lord of hosts; There shall yet old men and old
women dwell in the streets of Jerusalem, and every man with his
staff in his hand for very age.
5 And the streets of the city shall be full of boys and girls
playing in the streets thereof.
6 Thus saith the Lord of hosts; If it be marvellous in the eyes of
the remnant of this people in these days, should it also be
marvellous in mine eyes? saith the Lord of hosts.
7 Thus saith the Lord of hosts; Behold, I will save my people from
the east country, and from the west country;
8 And I will bring them, and they shall dwell in the midst of
Jerusalem: and they shall be my people, and I will be their God, in
truth and in righteousness.
-
People, peoples.
Greek. laos. Whereas it was people, Israel, it is now peoples,
called "the nations"
-
Revelation 21:24 And the nations of
them which are saved shall walk in the light of it: and the
kings of the earth do bring their glory and honour into it.
25 And the gates of it shall not be shut at all by day: for there
shall be no night there.
26 And they shall bring the glory and honour of the nations into it.
27 And there shall in no wise enter into it any thing that defileth,
neither whatsoever worketh abomination, or maketh a lie: but
they which are written in the Lamb's book of life.
4 And God shall wipe away all tears
from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither
sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for
the former things are passed away.
-
What a
great and wonderful time this is to anticipate.
-
We are
not sure what kind of bodies we will be in at that time. But,
evidently they will be incapable of pain.
-
We will
be in that perfect state of the spiritual body
-
1 John
3:1 Behold, what manner of love the Father hath bestowed upon us,
that we should be called the sons of God: therefore the world
knoweth us not, because it knew him not.
2 Beloved, now are we
the sons of God, and it doth not yet appear what we shall be: but we
know that, when he shall appear, we shall be like him; for we shall
see him as he is. 3 And every man that hath this hope in him
purifieth himself, even as he is pure.
5 And he that sat upon
the throne said, Behold, I make all things new. And he said unto
me, Write: for these words are true and faithful.
6 And
he said unto me, It is done. I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning
and the end. I will give unto him that is athirst of the
fountain of the water of life freely.
-
Isaiah
12:2 talks about wells of salvation. Our
Father loves us and He gives of the water freely.
-
Isaiah 12:1
And in that day thou shalt say, O LORD, I will praise thee:
though thou wast angry with me, thine anger is turned away, and thou
comforted me.
2 Behold, God is my salvation; I will trust, and
not be afraid: for the LORD GOD is my strength and my song; he
also is become my salvation. 3 Therefore with joy shall ye draw
water out of the wells of salvation. 4 And in that day shall ye
say, Praise the LORD, call upon his name, declare his doings among
the people, make mention that his name is exalted. 5 Sing unto
the LORD; for he hath done excellent things: this is known in all
the earth. 6 Cry out and shout, thou inhabitant of Zion: for
great is the Holy One of Israel in the midst of thee
7 He that
overcometh shall inherit all things; and I will be his God, and
he shall be My son.
-
The
reason the over comer is referred to as a male is that after the
millennium there will be no difference in sex.
-
1 John
3:2 Beloved, now are we the sons of God,
and it doth not yet appear what we shall be: but we know that,
when he shall appear, we shall be like him; for
we shall see him as he is.
-
Luke
20:34 And Jesus answering said unto them, The children of this world
marry, and are given in marriage:
35 But they which shall be
accounted worthy to obtain that world, and the resurrection from the
dead, neither marry, nor are given in marriage: 36 Neither can
they die any more: for they are equal unto the angels; and are the
children of God, being the children of the resurrection.
8 But the fearful, and unbelieving,
and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and
sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part
in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the
second death.
-
The word
''abominable'' here means idol worshipper.
-
The word
''sorcerers'' means commerce with evil spirits. They are drug dealers.
-
The word
''liars'' used here goes much deeper than just telling little fibs
-
This is
a falseness of teaching, teaching something other than the truth
-
This
would be a false prophet.
-
These
will all ''have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and
brimstone: which is the second death''.
-
Those
who after being taught for 1000 years still cling to Lucifer, they
will be destroyed actually and completely.
9 And there came unto me one of the seven
angels which had the seven vials full of the seven last plagues,
and talked with me, saying, Come hither, I will shew thee the
bride, the Lamb's wife.
-
The "wife" and the "bride" here must not be confused
with "the wife" of Rev 19:7.
-
The wife of Rev 19:7 is Israel, called out from all the
nations for blessing in the Land, the earthly consort of
"the great King".
-
The "bride, the Lamb's wife" here is still of Israel,
but that Israel of the "heavenly calling" all those
connected with the "heavenly" country and "the city
which hath the foundations", for which "they looked".
-
Wife =
Greek word gune, always "wife", or
"woman".
-
Matthew 1:20
But while he thought on these
things, behold, the angel of the Lord appeared unto him
in a dream, saying, Joseph, thou son of David, fear not
to take unto thee Mary thy wife: for that which is
conceived in her is of the Holy Spirit.
-
The wife of Rev 19:7 is not called numphe. Here she is
both numphe and gune
-
Revelation 21:2
And I John saw the holy city, new
Jerusalem, coming down from God out of heaven, prepared
as a bride adorned for her husband.
-
Mark 13:27 And then shall he send his
angels, and shall gather together his elect from the four winds,
from the uttermost part of the earth to the uttermost
part of heaven.
Matthew
24:31 And he shall send his
angels with a great sound of a trumpet, and they shall gather
together his elect from the four winds, from one end of heaven to
the other.
Hebrew 3:1 Wherefore, holy brethren, partakers of the heavenly
calling, consider the Apostle and High Priest of our profession, Christ Jesus;
2 Who was faithful to him that appointed him, as also Moses was faithful in all
his house.
Hebrew 11:13 These all died in faith,
not having received the promises, but having seen them
afar off, and were persuaded of them, and embraced them,
and confessed that they were strangers and pilgrims on
the earth.
14 For they that say such things declare plainly that
they seek a country.
15 And truly, if they had been mindful of that country
from whence they came out, they might have had
opportunity to have returned.
16 But now they desire a better country, that is, an
heavenly: wherefore God is not ashamed to be called
their God: for he hath prepared for them a city.
Four winds has to do with the end
10 And he carried me away in the
spirit to a great and high mountain, and shewed me that great
city, the holy Jerusalem, descending out of heaven from God,
-
What is
this city? We will
find out what the exact name of the Holy New Jerusalem is.
-
The name
actually describes the city better than all the measurements or
credentials that could be given it
-
Ezekiel 48:35 tells us that the name of the city of Jerusalem is
''The Lord is There''
11 Having the glory of God: and her
light was like unto a stone most precious, even like a jasper
stone, clear as crystal;
-
''Clear
as crystal'' signifies complete freedom from impurities
-
It is
beautiful and sparking because Christ is there
-
And His
light reflects from it and put it aglow and gives it an atmosphere
of perfection
-
It will
be just as the Bible says it was around His throne.
-
It was
like a rainbow with colors of a prism
-
It will
be a beautiful sight.
12 And had a wall great and
high, and had twelve gates, and at the gates twelve angels, and
names written thereon, which are the names of the twelve tribes
of the children of Israel:
13 On the east three gates; on
the north three gates; on the south three gates; and on the west
three gates.
14 And the wall of the city had twelve
foundations, and in them the names of the twelve apostles of the
Lamb.
-
In Act
1:26 the lot falls upon Matthias.
-
He takes
the place of Judas to complete the twelve
-
Acts
1:26 And they gave forth their lots; and the lot fell upon Matthias;
and he was numbered with the eleven apostles
15 And he that talked with me had a golden reed to
measure the city, and the gates thereof, and the wall thereof.
-
Reed to bring peace
-
Compare
this verse to Ezekiel 40
16 And the city lieth foursquare, and the length is as large
as the breadth: and he measured the city with the reed, twelve
thousand furlongs. The length and the breadth and the height of
it are equal.
-
Twelve
thousand furlongs is 1500 miles.
-
The holy
city is presented to us as a perfect cube of 1500 miles
17 And he measured the wall thereof, an
hundred and forty and four cubits, according to the measure of a
man, that is, of the angel.
18 And the building of the
wall of it was of jasper: and the city was pure gold, like unto
clear glass.
-
Clear
glass has no impurities, just as pure gold has no impurities
19 And the foundations of the wall of the
city were garnished with all manner of precious stones. The
first foundation was jasper; the second, sapphire; the third, a
chalcedony; the fourth, an emerald;
20 The fifth,
sardonyx; the sixth, sardius; the seventh, chrysolite; the
eighth, beryl; the ninth, a topaz; the tenth, a chrysoprasus;
the eleventh, a jacinth; the twelfth, an amethyst.
-
Exodus
28:17-21 shows us that these stones are the twelve stones of Israel.
-
Each one
represent one of the twelve tribes.
21 And
the twelve gates were twelve pearls; every several gate was of
one pearl: and the street of the city was pure gold, as it were
transparent glass.
22 And I saw no temple therein: for the
Lord God Almighty and the Lamb are the temple of it.
23
And the city had no need of the sun, neither of the moon, to
shine in it: for the glory of God did lighten it, and the Lamb
is the light thereof.
-
Isaiah
60:19-22 gives a good rendering of this.
-
The
children of the night or darkness, have done away.
-
Isaiah
60:19 The sun shall be no more thy light by day; neither for
brightness shall the moon give light unto thee: but the LORD shall
be unto thee an everlasting light, and thy God thy glory.
20 Thy
sun shall no more go down; neither shall thy moon withdraw itself:
for the LORD shall be thine everlasting light, and the days of thy
mourning shall be ended. 21 Thy people also shall be all
righteous: they shall inherit the land for ever, the branch of my
planting, the work of my hands, that I may be glorified. 22
A little one shall become a thousand,
and a small one a strong nation: I the
LORD will hasten it in his time.
24 And the nations of them which
are saved shall walk in the light of it: and the kings of the
earth do bring their glory and honour into it.
-
The king referred to in this verse,
are just that, the kings of the earth.
-
This is not talking about our king
-
Remember, the word ''nations''
means ''ethnos'', which is various ethic groups.
-
There will be kingdoms of them
outside the 1500 miles and they will live in the light of it.
-
They will be Kings and
priests of their own people. They can come into the millennial
temple where Christ is.
-
The nations (the Gentiles) will be priest of their own
people. They will come into the millennium
temple with the Lord, and they will be
teaching their own people the laws of God.
-
Revelation 20:6 Blessed and holy is he that hath
part in the first resurrection: on such the second death hath no power,
but they shall be priests of God and of Christ, and
shall reign
with him a thousand years.
-
Those that come by salvation, that
are saved out of the races after the second death
-
They will live under their own
perfect kings, and their own realms
-
Yet, they will draw from the same
God
-
Good studying Psalms 22
-
Psalms 22:28 For the kingdom is the Lord's: and
He is the governor among the
nations.
-
Good studying Isaiah 60
25 And the
gates of it shall not be shut at all by day: for there shall be
no night there.
-
Why? God is our light
-
Go back up to Verse 23
26 And they shall bring the glory and
honour of the nations into it.
27 And there shall in no
wise enter into it any thing that defileth, neither whatsoever
worketh abomination, or maketh a lie: but they which are written
in the Lamb's book of life.
-
This world of false politics and
false religious systems is past history.
-
The ''gates'' may be left open
because there is no longer a thief.
-
The nations (ethnos) shall glory
and honor it because the ruler is fair, just and worthy
-
Nothing shall enter that defileth,
for everything that defileth has been consumed by the cleansing
fire.
-
Only those that love and serve God
may enter
-
See that you do this, and become a
citizen of the city named, ''God Is There''
