Zechariah 12
Zechariah 12:1 The burden of the word of the Lord for Israel, saith the Lord,
which stretcheth forth the heavens, and layeth the foundation of the earth, and
formeth the spirit of man within him.
-
God done all this. Man had no part of it.
2 Behold, I will make Jerusalem a cup of trembling unto all the people round
about, when they shall be in the siege both against Judah and against Jerusalem.
-
People = peoples
-
7th vial poured out. God's wrath poured out.
-
Revelation 16:17 And the seventh angel poured out his vial into
the air; and there came a great voice out of the temple of heaven, from
the throne, saying, It is done.
-
7th vial poured out - this is also the three

-
This cup of wrath is poured out on those that
followed Satan.
-
Jeremiah 10:10 But the LORD is the true God, he
is the living God, and an everlasting king: at his wrath the earth
shall tremble, and the nations shall not be able to abide his
indignation.
The mark in the hand means you're helping Satan with
his plan
18 And there were voices, and thunders, and
lightnings; and there was a great earthquake, such as was not since men
were upon the earth, so mighty an earthquake, and so great.
19 And the great city was divided into three parts,
and the cities of the nations fell: and great Babylon came in
remembrance before God, to give unto her the cup of the wine of the
fierceness of his wrath.
Babylon, which means confusing, Will be divided
into three parts
3 And in that day will I make Jerusalem a burdensome stone for all people: all
that burden themselves with it shall be cut in pieces, though all the people of
the earth be gathered together against it.
-
And = And it shall come to pass that in that day, etc.
-
A burdensome stone. A stone difficult to lift or to move; not a
stone to throw. Occurs only here. burden, etc. i. e.. seek to lift
it.
-
Cut in pieces = lacerated. Assyria, Persia, Rome, Greece, Egypt of
old, and in later days Spain, Portugal. and Russia have been so
lacerated on account of their treatment of the Jews.
4 In that day, saith the Lord, I will smite every horse with astonishment, and
his rider with madness: and I will open mine eyes upon the house of Judah, and
will smite every horse of the people with blindness.
-
Astonishment = the panic. Compare to Deuteronomy 28:28. The
LORD shall smite thee with madness, and blindness, and astonishment
of heart:
-
Open Mine eyes upon = regard with favour.
5 And the governors of Judah shall say in their heart, The inhabitants of
Jerusalem shall be my strength in the Lord of hosts their God.
6 In that day will I make the governors of Judah like an hearth of fire among
the wood, and like a torch of fire in a sheaf; and they shall devour all the
people round about, on the right hand and on the left: and Jerusalem shall be
inhabited again in her own place, even in Jerusalem.
7 The Lord also shall save the tents of Judah first, that the glory of the house
of David and the glory of the inhabitants of Jerusalem do not magnify themselves
against Judah.
8 In that day shall the Lord defend the inhabitants of Jerusalem; and he that is
feeble among them at that day shall be as David; and the house of David shall be
as God, as the angel of the Lord before them.

David was the only one to go up against Goliath. Bible
study 1 Samuel 17
-
1 Samuel 17:40 And he took his staff in his hand, and chose
him five smooth stones out of the brook, and put them in a
shepherd's bag which he had, even in a scrip; and his sling was
in his hand: and he drew near to the Philistine.
9 And it shall come to pass in that day, that I will seek to destroy all the
nations that come against Jerusalem.
-
Come = Some codices read "come to make
war"
-
The day of the Lord, the 7th trump and 7th vial
God's wrath poured out on the wicked.
10 And I will pour upon the house of David, and upon the inhabitants of
Jerusalem, the spirit of grace and of supplications: and they shall look upon me
whom they have pierced, and they shall mourn for him, as one mourneth for his
only son, and shall be in bitterness for him, as one that is in bitterness for
his firstborn.
-
Look = look attentively with hope and concern. This is the effect of
the gift of the Spirit.
-
Matthew 24:30 And then shall appear the sign of the Son of
man in heaven: and then shall all the tribes of the earth mourn, and
they shall see the Son of man coming in the clouds of heaven with
power and great glory.
-
Matthew 24:31 And he shall send his angels with a great sound
of a trumpet, and they shall gather together his elect from
the four winds, from one end of heaven to the other.

Whom they have pierced. Revelation 1:7 Behold, he cometh with
clouds; and every eye shall see him, and they
also which pierced him: and
all kindreds of the earth shall wail because of him. Even so, Amen.
-
Pierced = Occurs eleven times, and always means thrust through.
Compare to Zechariah 13:8 And it shall come to pass, that
in all the land, saith the LORD, two parts therein shall be cut off
and die; but the third shall be left therein.
11 In that day shall there be a great mourning in Jerusalem, as the mourning of
Hadadrimmon in the valley of Megiddon.
-
Shall there be a great mourning or, the wailing shall be great.
-
Hadadrimmon. Now Rummaneh, west of Esdraelon, near Megiddo,
where king Josiah was slain, and where the mourning was
unprecedented.
-
2 Chroncles 35:22 Nevertheless Josiah would not turn his face from
him, but disguised himself, that he might fight with him, and
hearkened not unto the words of Necho from the mouth of God, and
came to fight in the valley of Megiddo.
23 And the archers shot
at king Josiah; and the king said to his servants, Have me away; for
I am sore wounded. 24 His servants therefore took him out of
that chariot, and put him in the second chariot that he had; and
they brought him to Jerusalem, and he died, and was buried in one
of the sepulchres of his fathers. And all Judah and Jerusalem
mourned for Josiah. 25 And Jeremiah lamented for Josiah: and all
the singing men and the singing women spake of Josiah in their
lamentations to this day, and made them an ordinance in Israel: and,
behold, they are written in the lamentations.
12 And the land shall mourn, every family apart; the family of the house of
David apart, and their wives apart; the family of the house of Nathan apart, and
their wives apart;
13 The family of the house of Levi apart, and their wives apart; the family of
Shimei apart, and their wives apart;
14 All the families that remain, every family apart, and their wives apart.
• Exactly 2520 years from the exile
of Benjamin, Iceland became an independent nation.
•
The first tribe to be
conquered by the Assyrians was Manasseh,
in 745 B.C. Exactly 2520 years later America became a nation on July 4, 1776.
(Leviticus. 26: 28-46) God warned Israel that if they persisted in continually
breaking His Laws, not only would curses come upon them.
He would punish them for seven times, (a time being 360 years, seven times would
be 2520 years) and would banish them from the land of Palestine and scatter them
among the heathens (like lost sheep)
