Church of Laodiceans
The church of Laodiceans,
God was not pleased with the church of Laodiceans,
Why?
The church of Laodiceans is the worst church,
They won't even stand up for Jesus
if it's hurt their cash flow.
Revelation 3:15-16 I know thy works, that thou art neither cold nor hot: I would
thou wert cold or hot.
So then because thou art lukewarm, and
neither cold nor hot, I will spue thee out of my mouth.
They flow through life trying not
to step out of line, whether that step be right or wrong.
Revelation 3:17 Because thou sayest, I am rich, and increased
with goods, and have need of nothing; and knowest not that thou
art wretched, and miserable, and poor, and blind, and naked:
Revelation 3:14 And unto the angel of the church of
the Laodiceans write; These things saith the Amen, the faithful
and true witness, the beginning of the creation of God;
15 I know thy works, that thou art neither cold nor hot: I would
thou wert cold or hot.
-
It's possible to fit many of the
churches of today into this mold.
-
They are deceived by the political
situation and political beast.
-
They flow through life trying not
to step out of line, whether that step be right or wrong.
-
They won't even stand up for Jesus
if it's hurt the cash flow.
-
God tells us in the next verse how
He will handle these folks.
-
This is the worst church
16 So then because thou art
lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will spue thee out of my
mouth.
-
I will spue thee out of my mouth
-
Because thou art lukewarm and
neither cold or hot
-
Meaning = They do not stand for
Christ = nothing but money
17 Because thou sayest, I am rich, and increased
with goods, and have need of nothing; and knowest not that thou
art wretched, and miserable, and poor, and blind, and naked:
-
They are blind to the truth
-
God has sent them a delusion
-
They think they are rich
-
But they are spiritually poverty
stricken
-
They are stripped naked
-
Because they have not the truth.
-
Revelation
19:8 And to her
was granted that she should be arrayed in
fine linen, clean and white: for
the fine linen is the righteousness
of saints.
-
The fine linen is, your ''righteous acts'' -
your works = this church doesn't have no truth = no works for God
18 I counsel thee to buy of me gold tried in the fire, that
thou mayest be rich; and white raiment, that thou mayest be
clothed, and that the shame of thy nakedness do not appear; and
anoint thine eyes with eyesalve, that thou mayest see.
-
God wants you as His own.
-
He gives counsel as to how you may
be spiritually rich and clothed in purity.
-
The fine linen is, your
''righteous acts'' - your works
19
As many as I love, I rebuke and chasten: be zealous therefore,
and repent.
-
How many times do we tell our own
children that we are punishing them because we love them?
-
It's no difficult to understanding
what our Father means in this verse.
20 Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if
any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him,
and will sup with him, and he with me.
-
It says "when I knock at the door"
-
You will hear my voice
-
And then open the door
-
When He calls, you will answer
-
Christ doesn't stand at the door
begging
-
Revelation 19
21 To him that
overcometh will I grant to sit with me in my throne, even as I
also overcame, and am set down with my Father in his throne.
-
Understand the love and tenderness
in this verse
-
You, the first fruits, will be
there with Him
-
As He sits down with the Father
22 He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith
unto the churches.
-
All seven churches have now been
covered
-
It gives us a great deal to think
about as we equate their problems with present day problems.
-
We need to be on guard
-
Because the time soon approaches
us.
-
There was only two churches God was pleased with.
-
Revelation 3:10 and
Matthew 13
