Proverbs 2:1 My son, if thou wilt receive my words, and hide my commandments with thee;
  • Hide as in a treasury, in your mind
  • All wisdom comes from God
  • Psalm 119:8  I will keep thy statutes: O forsake me not utterly.
    9 Where withal shall a young man cleanse his way? by taking heed thereto according to thy word.
    10 With my whole heart have I sought thee: O let me not wander from thy commandments.
    11 Thy word have I hid in mine heart, that I might not sin against thee.
2 So that thou incline thine ear unto wisdom, and apply thine heart to understanding;
  • He is saying, keep focus on the word of God
  • Don't focus on this world of darkness
  • Understanding = discernment = on "wisdom"
3 Yea, if thou criest after knowledge, and liftest up thy voice for understanding;
  • Search and seek God's word, for wisdom is to have understanding
  • Ask God, for the hidden truth
4 If thou seekest her as silver, and searchest for her as for hid treasures;
  • Search for wisdom, God's word
  • Don't seek money or things of this world
5 Then shalt thou understand the fear of the Lord, and find the knowledge of God.
  • Proverbs 1:7 has two comparisons = to be wise or unwise and be a fool
  • This is the beginning of wisdom, to please God, to keep God's commandments, and find knowledge.
6 For the Lord giveth wisdom: out of his mouth cometh knowledge and understanding.
  • All wisdom comes from God
7 He layeth up sound wisdom for the righteous: he is a buckler to them that walk uprightly.
  • Don't be a day dreamer, keep focus on God's word
  • Sound wisdom = something stable
  • Wisdom = stability
  • Micah 6:9 The Lord's voice crieth unto the city, and the man of wisdom shall see thy name: hear ye the rod, and who hath appointed it.
  • The man of wisdom = everything that is or exists.
  • He layeth up, same word as "hide" in verse 1.
  • The wicked cannot find wisdom
  • Uprightly = blamelessly
8 He keepeth the paths of judgment, and preserveth the way of his saints.
  • God keeps His elect safe.
  • The paths of judgment = righteous paths
9 Then shalt thou understand righteousness, and judgment, and equity; yea, every good path.
  • Your going to know which path to take.
  • Keep away from fools of this world, they want to do evil.
10 When wisdom entereth into thine heart, and knowledge is pleasant unto thy soul;
  • Common sense of God, don't do as this world of darkness
  • Common sense = to know what's right or wrong
  • The power of wisdom is to keep from evil men = evil men only think of evil ways
11 Discretion shall preserve thee, understanding shall keep thee:
  • Judgment is going to be fair, its up to.
  • Luke 16 the gulf in heaven, you're going to be on the left or on the right side of the gulf.
12 To deliver thee from the way of the evil man, from the man that speaketh froward things;
  • God can do this, rescue you.
13 Who leave the paths of uprightness, to walk in the ways of darkness;
  • Satan is the prince of this world
  • anti-christ is against Christ
  • Common sense tells you, not to go on the dark side of this world
14 Who rejoice to do evil, and delight in the frowardness of the wicked;
  • Wicked = evil
15 Whose ways are crooked, and they froward in their paths:
  • Evil is always in their path.
  • If you choose to do unjust, its your choice
  • You can always come back to God and do what's right
  • Choose the right ways
16 To deliver thee from the strange woman, even from the stranger which flattereth with her words;
  • Strange woman in Revelation = a false religion = confusion
  • They say, it's okay to do as this world
17 Which forsaketh the guide of her youth, and forgetteth the covenant of her God.
  • Some are too busy to study God's word;they're always too busy too help others.
  • Busy-bodies are always saying, look what I have, thinking of this world only.
18 For her house inclineth unto death, and her paths unto the dead.
  • Dead = who have no resurrection
  • Isaiah 26:14 They are dead, they shall not live; they are deceased, they shall not rise: therefore hast thou visited and destroyed them, and made all their memory to perish.
19 None that go unto her return again, neither take they hold of the paths of life.

20 That thou mayest walk in the way of good men, and keep the paths of the righteous.
 
21 For the upright shall dwell in the land, and the perfect shall remain in it.
 
22 But the wicked shall be cut off from the earth, and the transgressors shall be rooted out of it.
  • Wicked = lawless
  • After the millennium, they're going into the lake of fire (Revelation 20)
 
Exactly 2520 years from the exile of Benjamin, Iceland became an independent nation.
 
  The first tribe to be conquered by the Assyrians was Manasseh, in 745 B.C. Exactly 2520 years later America became a nation on July 4, 1776.
