You are told to count the number of a man, a certain man, anthropos, as recorded in the Greek, a certain individual that holds with a hypnotic stare or gaze.
The first beast in Revelation 13 is a political system, and when Satan made an image to the beast that had the wound and was about to die, that this symbolizes the political system.
Satan is the king of Babylon in our day.
Nebuchadnezzar is the king of Babylon in the book of Daniel.
Keep the parallel in mind, because we see now Nebuchadnezzar has made an image and he's going to insist that people worship it.

And I want you to remember the exact use of them in the 12th chapter of Daniel.

Judaea = Jerusalem
When you see these armies, know time is near
This give you the location where Satan will be in Jerusalem
When you see Satan standing in Jerusalem saying he is God, it's time to get out of Jerusalem

Mark 13:13 And ye shall be hated of all men for my name's sake: but he that shall endure unto the end, the same shall be saved.
