God wants you as His own.

He gives counsel as to how you may
be spiritually rich and clothed in purity.

How many times do we tell our own
children that we are punishing them because we love them?

It's no difficult to understanding
what our Father means in this verse.
20 Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if
any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him,
and will sup with him, and he with me.

This is a church, or group of
people, who know who the evil ones are.

They know the identity of the
liars, the sons of Satan, the Kenites who have come from Cain all
the way from the beginning.

God was not pleased with this church.

hast patience, and for my name's sake hast laboured, and hast
not fainted.

These people are obviously very
strong
4 Nevertheless I have somewhat against thee,
because thou hast left thy first love.

This could referring to many of the
churches that know the national level of the things and what the
beast system involves.

They have left Christ out of it, They try to fight the battle
without Him.

This cannot be done with out God

Who is the first love?
-
It is Jesus Christ.

They must turn back to Christ as
the King. They will reign with Him, IF
first they return to the love of Jesus Christ
5 Remember
therefore from whence thou art fallen, and repent, and do the
first works; or else I will come unto thee quickly, and will
remove thy candlestick out of his place, except thou repent.

He's saying that without
repentance, He will cease sending the truth to
people.

Whereby they will not know the ends, Or the things that are going to
happen.

So that they will not know how to
react, Or how to be a servant of His.
6 But this thou hast, that thou hatest the deeds of the
Nicolaitans, which I also hate.
-
History has no record of these
written. They will appear in that day. All we know is that they are
hateful to God.

He is talking to a group of people
that do in fact know their own identity.

7 He that hath an ear,
let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches; To him
that overcometh will I give to eat of the tree of life, which is
in the midst of the paradise of God.

What is the "tree of Life"?

It is Jesus Christ Himself

He is saying, those of you who have
an ear to hear, will be able to partake directly of His Inheritance.

Why?
The church of Sardis,
They are dead in the truth,
I have not found thy works perfect before
God.
Thy works are the deeds you do, Sardis is a merchant town.
They were the mother of false gods.

The Holy Spirit is one sent (John 14:26). He goeth forth from
the throne, and serves in behalf of the throne. He is God
himself imparted to work in His elect the good pleasure of his
own will, making his grace availing in them and for them,
filling them with "all peace and joy in believing," helping
their infirmities, witnessing to their adoption, and carrying
into effect all the divine administrations of the kingdom of
grace.
